I did the molding but didn't gain the room I wanted in the big toe and instead got more room I didn't want in the heel. I may try it again with an ace bandage wrapped around the heel or perhaps just hot water in the toe.
I do feel like they have gotten more comfortable with use, plus I have very sensitive big toes.

Are the 6mm much thicker in the foot area or just the upper? The 3mm are definitely not 3mm thick in the foot. So I think the thickness is more a measure of neoprene equivalence.

Try thin low socks on your feet inside your booties.

Anybody have the round toe Atan booties? I like the split toe in terms of fit and especially feel with the thin soles (I only need them for warmth not protection, and only use booties when water < 52 degrees), but I find that the split-toe booties are rather wide at front of foot, and the latex is a bit sticky, thus a bit hard to get into and out of footstraps.

Just got back into windsurfing after 5 years. My old booties were shot. So as an experiment, I used my Vibram 5 fingers gym shoes (you know the ones that everybody laughs at. They turned out to be simply the best windsurfing shoes I have ever tried.

Just bought a pair of Xcel 1mm Reef Infinity Split Toe. Extremely comfortable, very thin naked foot feeling, strong enough to walk over sbmerged rocks at Coyote, and cheap from Swim outlet!

I came across this boot, recommended by a fellow I met from Hood River. It's the best I've used yet: it doesn't hold water and get baggy, and it feels less like you're wearing a bootie.

I'm size 11, but the 10 1/2 is working great for me.

I'm still absolutely LOVING my Solites. I'll happily buy another pair every year.
