I recently picked up a complete Windsurfer One Design setup with a really cool Sunkist Soda sail. The only problem is that the board is cracked. Does anyone know of a way of repairing it?

You might try P-Tex, like one would repair snow skis or snowboards. I serious doubt that epoxy products will bond to roto-molded polyethylene plastic.

I recently picked up a plastic welder to fix up our busted long boards (PP and PE plastics). Probably a bit expensive for a one off repair, though ($150).

Thanks, I thought about trying p-tex. I'll give it a try. As for Marinetex I think it's too brittle when dry.

No not brittle. It's hard as nails but swchandler was right.

What does Marine-Tex NOT adhere to?
Plastics like polyethylene and polypropylene, and also any unclean, oily, greasy, or otherwise contaminated surface.

Used to repair many polyethelene and propolene production kayaks with a hot air gun, hot glue gun, and some glue. Heat both sides close to melting temperature before applying the hot glue.
Did not work well with roto linked polyester, but worked for the softer stuff.

I just found this on the Marin Tex site. It sounds like it will do the trick!

You might want to have a look at West Systems Epoxy.
Gflex http://www.westsystem.com/ss/g-flex-epoxy It will fix just about anything. Hope this helps. Mike

If it is just a crack or two and not structural, try 3M 5200 found at boating supply shops (West marine). Stuff is tough to work with because it gets on everything so mask off the areas and work it in with an expired credit card and wear gloves and expendable clothing. Flexible and impenetrable when cured.
