No, actually, if you've never seen a guy who'd been shot with a small caliber hand gun, it takes about 20 seconds for the blood loss to hit the brain and body. They can run for a while unless you shoot them in the head or bone of a leg.

Don't forget the case recently when a mother defending her child shot an attacker 6 times in the torso at arm's length, only to have him run back downstairs, outside, and to his car and drive away. Her .38 popgun primarily scared and angered him until the blood loss got to him much (relatively speaking) later. A .38 is not considered a serious defense weapon, and Grandpa's pistol didn't look much bigger, if any. We also don't know what kind of cartridges he was using.

"Isn't anyone on the left willing to state exactly what they want from our government? Isn't this really the debate, what the left REALLY wants vs. what the right REALLY wants?"

techno900, on the same page as Bard's youtube link to Rafael Cruz's pointed right wing spiel was the following video. It highlights an ever growing scenario that I find very troubling in our country. Where do you stand on this issue?

Mikey...... I thought I was plonked. You said you didn't read my posts.

I used the expression "Grandpa" in this context and you repeated it. This could only have come from my post.

DOES THIS MEAN YOU LIED?

Again?

Somebody who served his country in the Air Force is a LIAR? The Air Force produces LIARS?

I'm shocked, I tell you, SHOCKED! Laughing Laughing Laughing

OK, I did. You're right; she outdid herself, and that's a challenge.

It's right up there with

My wife and I got a big hoot from both of them.

Mac

Agree, largely, with your post on the role of government. Interesting that you, again, receive no response from the self-proclaimed conservatives on this forum. I do not recall a post by a conservative yet where we see any specifics in how to restrain government spending and growth. Just a lot of broad statements in the philosophy of less government. No surprise since their representatives have, historically, not had much luck with achieving this. (Do they even want it?)

Also, continued silence when you, and I, have asked if they would support a policy that fossil fuel producers be responsible for attaching the health and environmental costs to their products.

I find it a bit amusing that you carry the torch for the liberals here. You are not a liberal. You are not a conservative. You look too closely at the numbers to be either.
