Hi all,

Light wind boards are back! and I´m looking for buying a raceboard (380 cm) like Fanatic Cat, Mistral Equipe etc. or better an old D2 (crit, Lechner).
If you have that in your garage let me know!

Cheers,

What about Bic Dufour Wing? Lots of those around, My neighbor has one sitting in his back yard and I've never seen him use it.

D-2's haven't been made for at least 15 years now, the last being Crit or Lechner's. They are thick in the nose, full displacement, around 10" thick, tapering to a thinner mid section and thinner tail section, the former Olympic's boards of the '90's.
Much easier to find Equipes or Cats, as more were made and more important, more were bought.
Still, fun starts at around 7 knots, or 9 mph breezes, and quickly becomes a chore at 22 mph.

Not true!

D2s are being made again by a couple of shapers.

There is a very dynamic group now on FB (open D2) , about 1100 members.

Of course new regattas happen mostly in Europe still, but there is a revival.

You should check their open D2 website as well as IWA.

I"m sure OP is willing to spend $3,500 for a new D-2 board made in Europe, and another $500 to ship to US. Sounds good.

Fortunately a 3rd of that sum will suffice, which makes it still competitive on market place.
