Just an interesting observation......:

From 7:45am this morning until now (~5:45pm), South Padre clocked in to work with just about the steadiest day of wind imaginable. See wind graph from SPIW Park sensor, attached.

And it's still going steady for who knows how much longer tonight.......unreal!

Peter N. left an onsite report around Noon....Hope you got out there!

What happened to the forecast that had it dropping off at 2pm? But those of us at SPI had a blast. Overpowered on a 4.7 all day. Should have rigged down but it has also been raining all day. Something about rerigging in the rain makes me lazy. Have to love those pellets of rain hitting your face at those speeds Smile

Awesome to hear it, John! Perfect 4.5 conditions for 11 hours straight. A dream.

The wind @ South Padre's SPIW Park weather station held ace-steady from about 7:30am straight through until 6:30pm, and then dropped off.

Yes, this shows why the real-time wind info is more important than the forecast.

Too bad the red and green lines weren't coincident with the blue. Now THAT would be steady wind. 'Wink'
