adywind, X-cross got rave reviews from windsport. soon to be published? i have a love/hate about it. love it when it's lit, hate when i've got to slog thru big surf. pretty much the short and wide schtick: sail them lit. otherwise, the short water line adds to the agony out of slogging, perhaps?
let me make it very clear. i've used large free rides, large wave boards and long boards in light wind surf applications. that's what i get the most. limited wind angles typically available too, so slogging thru the impact zone bears heavily in my perspective. boards below 245 or so in length become quite tiresome unless the waves are small and wind side off.
back to the X-cross. it turns very well, accelerates well, pretty smooth in flat water app's. fin that it comes with is small. base all the way back. if you want to use a bigger fin, nudge the base forward incrementally until you find the sweet spot. _________________ www.aerotechsails.com

I think I had a lap dance once called the Magic Ride. Thankfully she was not short and wide. |
