Legendary Curtis Hesselgrave of Curtis fins past away this week after a two year battle with pancreas cancer. Curtis made fins for several world speed recorded runs and many world cup championships back in the late 80 and 90 Curtis was a leading contributor to brining a scientific approach to fin foils to our sport. Curtis was also instrumental in innovations in the skateboard, surfing and also kiteboarding. Where his fins were used to set the current world speed record. |

I did not know Curtis, but did have one of his weed fins a while ago, which I was amazed by. Never have found another fin quite like it.
Good to know a little more about him. Sorry to hear of his passing.

This is sad news. I never met him, but I will miss him like he was family. Every fin I ride is a Curtis. |

SERIOUS loss, he never quit.
He's been designing and redesigning fins all the way up to the end.
Most of the successful race SUP boards are running his fins, as well as the surf line SUP fins.
A huge contributor to the fin evolution in all forms of surfing and board racing. |
