An interesting post mat-ty. I can see that your involvement in kiting has had an impact on your interests. One wonders how complex the rigging system is for such a kite, to include the methods and techniques to control it efficiently. Although wind has powered ships for thousands of years, it's interesting to see how new ideas can still be developed and used to improve performance. |

Not many folks remember that kites powered three wheeled carts before boards. This is still a sport in France.
There are electric auxiliary engines on some sailboats that charge from the sails. As the boat sails it turns the prop which turns the motor. Many types of electric motors will charge their batteries if you spin them in this way. I wonder if that car also charges while kiting with the same tech. |
