Yea....go ahead and poke some fun...but it is ON again!
Glad those of you who enjoyed last weekends thaw got some water sessions in...I was chomping the bit for that wind not useful for my ice Speed Record needs. But soon!
The ICE machine is on full time 24/7 for who knows how long?
In Chatham its a cool 11 deg!
I am sure there will be many new venues to freeze over in SE Mass, including the Cape, but don't really count on it lasting. This is the end of January and soon approaching the 'point of no return' for making Cape ice.
Meanwhile, NH lakes will get very thick and last until end of March! Lake Sunapee is in excellent shape for an extended season. Hoping Winni catches soon. I want BIG ICE!
UPDATE: Winni is FROZEN! GAME ON!!!!

We had another night where the temps have dipped to the single digits F. I'm still impressed when brackish water freezes over.

I'm hoping to get out on the ice here in Connecticut with ice skates and and a 1.8m 2 line trainer kite. Most of the ponds here have a light coating of snow in spots. Sebago looks awesome! Its a huge lake. Wish i had the time for the drive. I love winter. Have a great time!

Sebago is a great lake. It's rather high for lakes in New England. There's a great view of it from the top of Wildcat Ski Area which most people don't see because they are gawking at Mt. Washington. Slinky, glad to see that you are one of "us", the minority here. Please, keep posting and letting us know how things go.

That looks awesome iceratz! I don't think I have ever seen conditions that good. I will look into building a board, as I've seen the plans you posted. Skiing has gotten too expensive and too crowded. 50mph must be quite an adrenaline rush! How many years you been doing this?
