Well, part of the winters here in New England also includes SNOW besides ICE. Get out on your snowboards skiis!

I think everywhere that had clear sailable ice is now getting snow covered and will not be sailed anytime soon.
Burlington VT is a region dodging this snow event, but I have no idea where they are icesailing yet.

Look for new ice formation on lakes in Eastern Mass region with this huge cold wave expected, begining this weeknd and lasting for 10 days or more.
Cool

Snow kiting would be the way to enjoy the wind and snow covered lakes. However, my days of driving out of state for snow are in the past. They are saying the temps won't rise above freezing after this artic air mass comes in until Friday. We should have safe ice next week. Enjoy today and the warm air temps!!! They won't be back for a long while.

The Cape saw 22" in February in '05. I put in a full season (40-45 days) of skiing here back then. This storm will be comparable. Those pictures of black ice on Sebago really upset me, but now we have a potential for some very enjoyable outdoor activities. If it stays cold, the sourpusses, candy asses, chronic complainers, and grinches will make indoors a nightmare, but the skiing will be great!!! Luckily there are enough cross country skiers here to put down good track in the woods.

Then you better go outside to avoid each other.

This storm is looking to be very dangerous. National weather service is calling for NE winds 40-50 kts gusts to 70 ,hurricane force ,with seas of 18-28 ft. for east facing beaches on the cape. Stay safe everyone.

It sure is a bit too windy now and tomorrow, but Hardie & I had a bit of fun sailing this morning. The wind was strong enough to inspire my board to practice loops without me.

I would not worry about that too much. Temperatures should be in the 40s Monday and Tuesday, and Tuesday looks quite promising wind-wise. I just hope they get around to clearing access to beach parking lots in time if we really get 10+ inches of snow Smile
