In case you're jones'n to get out on the water in the winter months, Ideal Beach on the Raritan Bay (just west of Sandy Hook) is open and clear of debris. Volunteeers from Clean Ocean Action did an awesome job a few weeks back cleaning the beach of debris - they have another clean-up day scheduled on January 19th. Anyway, I sailed there just past low tide yesterday and there are no visable obstructions in the water - in fact the beach was especially clean for this time of year. So if you want to get out - this is a great alternative to the Hook plus easterly winds are also really nice here too. Hope to see you on the water.

Rob
