Please explain how.

First off obviously make them illegal, possession that is...with stiff legal consequences. Secondly, offer significant financial incentive for current owners to turn them in.

that will run into the billion of dollars, meanwhile 60,000 opioid deaths per year.

Actually, about $10 billion just for AR15s. What about mini 14, AK47s, and the hundreds of other types of semi auto rifles? 300,000,000 at a minimum of $1000 each.

Do you not realize that a truck is far more lethal than a gun?

Sure, lets talk Opiods...Why don't we ask ourselves why so many people are seeking an altered state?
I'm not sure the parents in Newtown would be too concerned with the financial impact...If you opened up the legal channels to sue the gun manufacturers, you might force a huge settlement--like the Tobacco settlement.

Steve...one thing at a time. If you want to discuss Trucks, that's fine. I'm starting with semi-automatic , and automatic weapons.. I don't think we should be selling them at KMART to 18 year old knuckleheads, sorry if we disagree on that.

I agree with 21 age limits, unless Hunter. Weapons training until 25. 15 minute background check. FBI, LOCAL COPS should have the right to block all weapons purchases for 5 years for domestic abuse, violent threats etc.

That's more money than we could print.
I agree there are far too many assult weapons out on the streets, but lets not forget that the Columbine massacre, as well as others, happened when the ban on assult weapons was in place.
We have to harden the soft target of schools, that's the only thing that could be done "in pretty short order". It could actually be done in days, and wouldn't even require a Federal law, just a school board aproval, if they could only get their political heads out of their political asses.
Always trying to rely in DC for solutions, is why very little has been done, and it's also just another form of passing the buck.

Did you see the discussion between Trump and the kids and people all about gun violence in schools, that just happened?
It was awesome, maybe even historic, it cut right thru all the tribalism that exists when it comes to guns. People actually listened to one another.

It begins, no Federal law needed for this.

F you, he screened who he invited... and invited the ones he did not want to show up, the majority gave them invitations whas it 12 hours before the event, and the others was it days before it. Who can get to DC with short advance notice when a protest or event was scheduled down in florida too. So he brought in the non-active ones.

The obvious solution is just to hand out free bullet proof vests. The liberals should be in line with anything that involves - "free".
