One of the bulwarks of our (British) freedom from the threat of a tyrannical government is our evolved system of monarchy. Technically we are all subjects of the reigning monarch , and our armed forces and police etc swear allegiance to the crown.

Should 'a Hitler' type and his party followers attempt to take over, and turn the armed forces and police against Jews, or any other faction of our society ( subjects of the crown), he would not succeed. The Royal Assent would be withheld. The ring leaders would be arrested for treason against the crown, and, (in theory) be incarcerated in the Tower of London. That is our safeguard, and why we don't fear any such threat.

Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime.

You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.

I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.

I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.

We, the people, deserve better than you.

Respectfully Submitted,

Joshua Boston

Gun registration just does not equal disarming, but hey - they don't teach reasoning in the Marines.

If the Corporal wants to carry a gun in the name of freedom, let him put on the uniform and submit to the US Armed Forces chain of command and discipline.

I'd like to think I have a right to live in a civil society where force is exercised by trained, trusted and supervised representatives of my elected officials - not my wacko neighbor.

I hope someday, your "wacko" neighbor comes over to save your life...because the history of government is oppression. Do you really think someone in this government cares about you?

Listen to history. Listen to your founding fathers. Listen to the history of gun control. We aren't wacko's. We love this country, we love freedom. Not just sexual freedom. Not just the right to view porn. We love the freedom to make mistakes, and to go hungry if we fail.

WE ARE NOT CATTLE. WE ARE MEN...(Devo?)

I gave chase through the parking lot and to my car that just happened to have a rifle packed in the back. I pulled it out and aimed it at the purp. As I did the bank manager grabbed it out of my hands and went crazy. He was right. What was I thinking? I was only 19. However as a 50 year old with no criminal record, I'd react like the bank manager. Maturity should have something to do with firepower IMO.

The robber was killed later that afternoon anyway by police....

IMO, your bank manager was wrong, assuming you had a clear shot. Why? Because that subsequent shootout could have killed cops and bystanders and NOT the perp. You could well have saved a life.

Keep posting Bard; you'll be failing that mental stability test too.

You wing nuts seem to have forgotten 20 dead children--only a small part of the 30,000 killed in this country last year by guns. That's ten times the number killed in the Bin Ladin attack on New York. And you keep inventing things to scare yourself with. So this is for you:

Ahh Dan Hicks. I almost like you Mac...but you are so hateful.

PS, I'm glad I didn't shoot him. Robber or not, that is a heavy burden.

While I am not overly concerned about our guns being taken away, the first step would be required registration for all. The government will want to know where all the guns are, BEFORE any word of confiscation would be uttered.

Those with blind trust, go for it. Some of us will just be a little more cautious.

Which would be a greater burden ... shooting an armed robber or his killing a couple of policemen or bystanders later because you didn't shoot him when you had the chance? We'll never know until we experience both situations. I had to shoot a big neighborhood tomcat because it kept mauling my petite female cat 40 years ago. It bothered me a great deal then, and still bothers me to think about it. I can't imagine how a human, even just a dangerous ratbag lowlife robber willing to kill for cash, would ramp up the angst.

The government confiscated gold, and still can, simply because it wanted, and may want again, to do.

Bard--you are being unintentionally funny again. I just love it when people who constantly post hateful things object to others being hateful! Trying for approval from you would be like taking a prostitute's sales pitch seriously.

You and Iso fail the empathy and the mental stability tests again.
