Mikey, you are delusional. Fruitcake nuts.

It must truly suck to be you, to constantly carry around that much fear, loathing, anger, hate, fright, anguish and anxiety, bigotry, vitriol.

But....... your behavior DOES make for an entertaining circus sideshow.

So, on behalf of your appreciative audience, please continue.

So are you saying that all the gun shot wounds / deaths are preventing assaults?

No. But the assaults, especially rape, decreased dramatically -- by 95% in one county in Florida -- when the public is allowed (or encouraged, even required in some towns) to carry guns. Chicago's laughable justice system refuses to enforce its very strict gun laws, just as New Mexico refused to enforce its very strict DUI laws. The results include a murder rate in Chicago comparable to that in Honduras and an Albuquerque drunk driver doing his first (brief) jail time only after he killed a SECOND family.

Can you please site the county in Florida that requires its citizens to carry a firearm, as well as the statistics of 95% reduction in violent crimes? Thats quite an accomplishment , and I'd like to learn more about it, thank you.

Since the example of "guns prevent assault", most notably "rape" in Florida in some county nutty enough to encourage its citizen to arm themselves, I thought it would be interesting to find a direct comparison between my beloved country of Canada, and the fear fed USA, influenced by an antiquated second amendment and the evil NRA.

Please note that guns ARE NOT a deterrent to rape as it is apparent that one is 16 times more likely to be raped in the gun toting nation. Please examine the statistics for yourselves, and start questioning the blatant lies the idiots at the NRA have been spoon feeding it's loyal followers.

The county around Orlando, FL had 80 rapes in a short period. The government began encouraging and facilitating women to arm themselves, and publicized it openly. The rapes declined ... by 100% or very close to it.

Just because the NRA (or Fox News, or even NBC, which recently criticized its own far left bias) reads a news item does not make it false.

80 rapes in a short period of time would indicate that the act was likely performed by one individual. It could also be a coincidence that this person moved, was injured, died, etc. If the person moved, due to a threat of being shot, it only moved the problem elsewhere. I highly doubt a person (s) who would commit such a crime would all of a sudden stop. This is a sickness, usually associated with sexual deviance or addiction, that I very much doubt stopped due to a threat of being shot.

This is anecdotal and hardly a reason for the population of a nation to armed to the teeth.

Comparable -- not 100% but impressive -- stats apply to just about all communities which open the gates for gun ownership. Guns up, crime down. Gang warfare may be different, especially when it's ignored. I have little sympathy for decent people who consciously refuse to move out of gang-overrun neighborhoods. Just as illegal aliens freely cross hell and high water then evade ICE for many thousands of miles for years just to EARN money harvesting crops, so can U.S. citizens living in shitty neighborhoods. But countless unemployed citizens flatly refuse to relocate even for jobs they've been offered a state or two away. They do not deserve public unemployment welfare.

reinerehlers,

Your chart with the differences between the US and Canada is interesting. To me, there are a lot of factors/differences between the two countries that contribute to or detract from crime that have little to do with firearms. Poverty rates, birth rates, population, economies, ethnicities, unemployment, etc. all seem to favor Canada and a more civil way of life. I have no idea of how those in Canada that are below the poverty line live as compared to those in the US, but I suspect there is a significant difference.

As I have said before, given the population in the US and the number of guns, very little if anything can or will be done to disarm the population. If the effort was ever made, most of the responsible people would abide by the law while the bad guys would just ignore it. The smart responsible people that have arms that the government has no record of, would likely keep them. The issue is way to complex to make any headway toward disarming the US population. Ammunition could be restricted, but that would just create a huge black market and hording.

The debate is interesting, but fruitless.

NW

Belize has a greater percent of broken families than Chicago all right.
We have gangs too.
They were not shooting at each other though because getting caught with a gun gets you a prison sentence. If it has five bullets in it each one is a charge.
Now that the NRA has come and is beating down our gun laws they are shooting it out with guns they steal from NRA types who moved to Belize.

Same as the US. The sickness is spreading.

Techno,
The key phrase here is " disarming the people"
That is the plan that the fake media claims liberals want, when in fact many libs are gun owners.
Libs want background checks. So do most conservatives by a wide margin.

The NRA knows their members want this so they pretend to support it while successfully fighting it in Congress with gunmakers money.

The. NRA want conservatives to say take away your guns everyday so we won't notice that almost no liberals supports or tries to do that.
