He trains more holes and lethal force. More effective. Makes sense doesn't it? Bleed quick, pass out and die. What is the purpose other than that? Makes sense to me. If your going to train....Train for Gods sake. |
It is the States that determine the requirements for a concealed carry permit. The overwhelming focus of concealed carry requirements is on safe firearm handling skills and background checks. I possess a multi-state concealed carry permit. The "shoot 'em up" lethal force you describe was not part of the training. If you had ever been to an NRA range you would know that there is an almost paranoid attention to safety. You should try it sometime. You would learn there is more to the topic that can be gleaned from watching a 30 minute interview on NPR. |

mrgybe, are you suggesting that the pro level gun training courses that isobars and his wife are participating in are off the mark? |

No matter what gun course you take, the 1st and most important topics are safety.
A couple of months ago I read a story about a guy who tried to light a campfire with gasoline. Nobody taught the poor guy about gasoline. He died. |

That is a complete fabrication. You don't know what you are talking about. |
The dozens of hours my wife and put into concealed carry training by nationally ranked cops/trainers/police lawyers agree with frederick pretty closely. Shoot until the threat is certifiably nullified. Nothin' nutty about it. |
I love it when the fringe fruitcake right goes after the frothing rabid right.
Or maybe the other way 'round.
Fun to watch.

Mr Gybe, Isn't the whole purpose of conceal carry to kill when threatened? Its not to take out for some leisurely target practice while walking down the street. It's not for justing shooting the guy in the knee like in the movies or into the air? It's to pump holes so you bleed and die quick. It's exactly how they train cops. If your going to shoot, shoot to kill, not maim. The best way to kill is more blood. It's not rocket science. That is why it's totally nuts! Who needs to do that? Other than a cop? Are you really prepared to do that to someone? That's the goal. Much safer without one and just walk away. It's like road rage gone mad.
I appreciate the backup Mike. Given, these scenarios, I still would be interested in the psychology behind wanting to carry a gun? Mr. Gybe, I am not trying to be flippant, just realistic. Would welcome your thoughts to the conversation. |
