Guns, guns, guns, this latest mass shooting does have something in common with the Sandy Hook killings, the Co. theater killings, and the Columbine killings.
All the perps were heavily into watching violent video games,,,,,, for hours.

Just saying, but shhhhhh, it's really only about guns, after all, guns have brains and can aim themselves.

Training for what? Don't point the gun at someone. Class over.
Besides, using a gun is no more difficult than using a staple gun.

NW is there someone in some remote place who thinks it is all about guns?
I have never met this liberal or mental case but if you find his address I will write him a letter and tell him the truth.
The secret for pumping up the partisan rancor is to constantly supply Opinions to liberals and tell yourself they thought of it, not you and Talk.
But they didn't.
It is badly weakening our country. Many who do this think they are patriots but really they are parrots and victims.

Sad but funny commentary KC. When a Repub starts a political commentary, they often supply a false opinion to a liberal, then base their argument on the opinion. It usually starts with the phrase..."don't get me started, but....".

We kept our son away from them until he was 14. You can't micro manage what they do at their friends homes, so chose his friends wisely while you can.

You obviously haven't been trained to use a weapon. However, part of training is evaluation by the instructor as to whether you are crazy or not. I went through a hunter safety course and it was pretty difficult. A local sheriff failed the course. He wasn't happy.

Instructor told us he failed many guys because he just didn't like them. And no, I don't hunt. I just think that an owner of a semi automatic weapon should be trained....and in the future evaluated if he wants to buy a new weapon. Irony that this guy just used a shotgun, as I've said in the past is more lethal than a semi auto in the hands of an idiot.

Of course. Just like the bottle of whiskey in the 16 year-old's hands.

Well, we could require registration of the game and licensing of the user. And maybe background checks. Oh, and special training and testing before earning the license, and licenses issued ONLY to those old enough to handle the game.

And the user must undergo proper sanity testing before receiving the user's license.

90% of mass shootings are perpetrated by men under 35 who've either sought care for mental illness, or have been contacted by police and therapists for anti social behavior. We don't need mass registration. The felons won't do that.

Simple solution. In the case where police or therapists are contacted, and the behavior is exhibited and verified, weapons should be seized for 1 year. This could be done with a simple restraining order. If someone feels he is capable after the restraining order, he should be made to attend a gun safety course and clearance from a doctor, or wait 1 year. Local gun store could store weapons, just like the hold placed on new ones.

Obviously, domestic violence, or any violent crime should prohibit someone from owning a weapon for at least 10 years, or life if a felony. We don't need registration. We need training paid by gun owners at the point of purchase or online.

As I posted earlier. THere is no national data base for mental illness. You cannot violate doctor patient confidentiality except for exceptional cases where a patient clearly threatens someone. Are you suggesting that mental illness shall be dealt with in a different manner than any other illness?

Yes CB. Only with reference to calls to police, and illegal behavior. The vast majority of violent actors have had run ins and confrontation with police, employers, and neighbors. There should be a 1 year hold on weapons for these people. Instead of making the teacher register his gun, the socially violent or threatening individuals should be made to wait at least a year. This would also go for drug convictions and welfare recipients on drugs. I believe long term welfare recipients should be drug tested.

Guns are a serious business. Our founding fathers were serious guys who understood personal responsibility. There is very little of this left today.
