I say yes to a certian extent, and it all has to do with trust, did he/she ever lie about whatever issue came up with their behavior. That's the line for me. Trust can't be campartmentalized.
We pay them with our taxes, so we should expect honesty at the very least, whenever they have to address an issue that comes up involving their behavior. If they originally lied about it, then their ticket is cancelled as far as I'm concerned.
Right now we are being bombarded by bicoastal, sexual deviancy, hense the topical question.
Should our politicans be role models?

Of course. But voters are bamboozled by image and ... well ... hope.
And, of course, BSNBC.

What young man wouldn't want to grow up like Anthony Weiner, Nancy Lugosi, Bill Clinton, Elliott Spitzer, Jesse Jackson Jr., Mark Sanchez, Charlie Rangel, Eric Holder, The "gang of 8", or everyones favorite Barack Fidel Obama?

Or Gingrichs fellow GOP leadership who lost their jobs during the Clinton thing because of their stripper girlfriends, dating married men, and other conservative values.
Gingrich himself was screwing his secretary, according to his wife at the time.
And who could have been more admirable role models than the lineup of the most competent and admirable folks in the Republican party during the primary? Bachman, Gingrich again,Cain, drunken Perry,.....

Weiner is getting soft in the polls, it's time for him to pull out, nothing is going to come of this.

And as for Huma, just another toy in the drawer, standing by her man may have worked for her coach, Hillary, but Huma is no Hillary, just a Hillary wannabe.
What's amazing, is that they are both considered feminists, is this how feminists are supposed to be? Door mats?

Hey now, don't be so hard on Anthony Weiner! Perhaps Mr. Wiener was born with a "genetic disposition" that explains his behaviour. Wow, you guys are such haters. So the guy likes to tweet his junk, who are you to judge? Weinerphobes

He is important because he is a Democrat so everything he does is Obamas fault.

I wonder what it is that one would be hoping to role model from these people in the first place?

I can't say I can find much of anything of any politician that I find honourable. I'm sure there are the exceptions though, but really really rare.

They're really, really scared of many things. Their motto is "Be afraid. Be very afraid."

Right now, they're afraid of weiners.

In the first case, they're afraid of Anthony Weiner, who tweeted pictures of Weiner's weiner, even though it was a fully packaged weiner. They obviously didn't like that Weiner worshiped his weiner.

Years ago, they were afraid of Willie's weiner, which was well- and repeatedly worshiped by an intern Willie weiner worshiper. She ate it up. Unfortunately, it stained his reputation, at least among the far right wiener-worriers, and it also stained the intern's dress.

This, of course, added fuel to Newt's fire -- he who was no stranger to weiner wiggling himself. Newt (not to be confused with a four-legged reptile) was at that very time wagging his weiner at a new woman while his current wife suffered with cancer.

And let's not overlook Mark Sanford, who took his weiner for an extended hike along the Appalachian Trail, all the way to the Weiner Worshiper from Ipanema.

Those very afraid people are horrified by Weiner but quite happy with Sanford.

Who woulda thunk it? Democratic weiner's bad, Republican weiner's good. Maybe to them, it's a case of "one in the hand is better than two in the bush."

But why?
Does it go against the dem's phoney charge of the GOP's "war on women"?
Does it go against against the foundations of feminism?
Does it hurt Hillary's future plans?
Or is it that it's just too close to home?
Their lividness is in itself, very illustrative on many levels.

Bill and Hillary Clinton are 'livid' at comparisons to Weiner’s sexcapades and Huma’s forgiveness
By FREDRIC U. DICKER

Bill and Hillary Clinton are angry with efforts by mayoral hopeful Anthony Weiner and his campaign to compare his Internet sexcapades — and his wife Huma Abedin’s incredible forgiveness — to the Clintons’ notorious White House saga, The Post has learned.

“The Clintons are upset with the comparisons that the Weiners seem to be encouraging — that Huma is ‘standing by her man’ the way Hillary did with Bill, which is not what she in fact did,’’ said a top state Democrat.

Weiner and his campaign aides have explicitly referred to the Clintons as they privately seek to convince skeptical Democrats that voters can back Weiner despite his online sexual antics — just as they supported then-President Bill Clinton in the face of repeated allegations of marital betrayals.

“The Clintons are pissed off that Weiner’s campaign is saying that Huma is just like Hillary,’’ said the source. “How dare they compare Huma with Hillary? Hillary was the first lady. Hillary was a senator. She was secretary of state.”

A longtime Hillary aide and Clinton friend, Abedin’s surprisingly unequivocal support of her husband after his bombshell admission Tuesday that he engaged in salacious online sexting well after he resigned in disgrace from Congress in 2011 left the Clintons stunned, continued the source.

“Hillary didn’t know Huma would do this whole stand-by-your-man routine, and that’s one of the reasons the Clintons are distancing themselves from all this nonsense,’’ the source said.

In the view of many Democrats, the Weiners have also alluded more subtly to the Clintons.

For instance, Abedin, with her husband at her side, declared last week, “Our marriage, like many others, has had its ups and its downs.’’

“Who didn’t think Huma was referring to the Clintons when she said that?’’ asked another prominent Democrat.

Worried about the potential impact on Hillary’s likely run for president in 2016, the political power couple has begun aggressively distancing itself from the crippled mayoral contender, according to sources.

Meanwhile, at least one prominent Hillary Rodham Clinton political operative was described as close to “going public’’ with a sharp criticism of Weiner — in order to send the message that the Clintons, fearing longtime damage to Hillary, want him out of the mayor’s race. (That would be someone other than former Clinton White House Press Secretary Dee Dee Myers, who said yesterday that she was sure the Clintons wanted Weiner out of the race.)

With all the explosive ammunition Republicans have to fire at Weiner and a handful of other disgraced Democrats, GOP activists expected Senate co-leader Dean Skelos and Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb to unload at least a few critical comments.

Instead, there’s been total silence from the state’s two top elected Republicans — in yet another example of the collapse of the state’s two-party system.

Skelos “couldn’t care less about what’s going on with the Democrats. He’s just focused on . . . sending out meaningless tweets,’’ said a Republican strategist.

I believe the Clinton's would be much better off, having anybody associated with them, not say anything about these guys (Spitzer and the SD mayor, included). They should let them hang in the breeze on their own.

I'm not trying to claim that this is a dem problem only, far from it, eventhough this current crop seems to be from mostly one party. I'd just like to see some lessons learned, but mostly I'd like to see the wives grow some balls for a change, and kick their men to the curb.
That's the part that seems so ridiculous, what's the matter with these women?
