I haven't read his book, but this review on Amazon reinforced my opinion of him.

"Let me save you the $13 that I wasted on this fraudulent and deceptive book:
This book is a scam ...

You cherry picked and based your opinion on a one star review, without mentioning that more than half of the 131 reviews were 5-star reviews, or that they've written three or four books? You found what you wanted to find. I actually studied (read, annotated, highlighted, and selectively re-read) their last two books and other items they've written since those books, and found what I wanted to find in any investment book: opinions on the next few years of our economy clearly presented by authors with a good to excellent record of analysis and prediction.

Besides, the reviewer's objections are easily proved as lies in five minutes or personal examination in the bookstore. Re "The book only serves two purposes":
1. "To purchase more investment products". In fact, their three brief service offers total 1.3 pages out of 294. The other 99.56% of the book is dense, understandable, heavily referenced raw meat.

2. "To convince you to buy gold through the highly dishonorable and fraudulent sources that they recommend".
One, their last book, the one that dwells on how to invest to profit from the next crunch, discusses gold for only 9 pages out of its 294.
Two, it doesn't even mention sources for purchasing physical gold other than to state, "Monex is one example of a gold depository service. All the authors have used Monex for many years.".
Three, that reviewer's statement that "they even lie themselves in the book by saying that if you invest in an ETF, you can request the gold to be shipped to you" is itself a lie, as proved on pp 206-207. 206 discusses ETFs and never mentions personal possession of any gold. P 207 discusses gold depositories, and that's where it it says "at any time your gold can be shipped to you".
Four, "Monex Fraud" is an online tutorial published by Monex warning the public of the dangers of fiat money.
Five, skimming through the so-called "Ripoff Reports" Monex section reveals mostly a bunch of whiners who had done no research about the standard policies of Monex or any other gold depositories. Buyers don't get to set policy, including "my gold lost value before I even received it. That's a ripoff."

"All the fraudulent companies", the reviewer accuses? Yeah, right ... the world's bankers, millionaires, CEOs, rock and sports stars, lawyers, etc. are all dealing with fraudulent gold depositories (depositories are very closely monitored by the federal government).

But I don't base any important decisions on any one .... or 4 or 6 ... such sources. My "Aftershock" books are but two of a thigh-high pile of similar books I'm poring through in order to get a non-political consensus of what might transpire over the next several years. The Wiedemers were among the most accurate 7 years ago, and if I had acted on their and several others' strong highly credible advice back then I'd have tripled to quadrupled my life savings in just a few short months. Of all my investments, the bit of gold I DID buy a few years ago has easily outpaced any other investments I've made.

I'm paying more attention this time, and I'm sure as HELL not basing any investments on ANY internet wankers like you, that reviewer, or myself. I demand credentials, track records, ken, and analysis none of us has or can provide. And the LAST people I'd base investment decisions on is politicians and salesmen who profit directly from my investments; we know they lie.

You DO know, don't you, that an "internet wanker" is nothing more or less than any and every ordinary person on the internet? The next level up is known experts, such as people in the WSing forums here like Peterson, Cook, Angulo, Ezzy, Poor, et.al. No one in these political forums, AFAIK, make that cut. Even if Mrgybe does make the cut, our only hint is his anonymous claims, so that's not proof.

Look Iso, if you indeed are dying, and are sick with cancer, why do you even bother with these forums. You need to live man. Connect with family and friends. It is sad and creepy that you have posted names and #s. I suppose you have something to say that is valid, however, you must have better things to do.

OK, you made me look it up, to see if the meaning I got many years ago and have described here in the past and repeated above is valid.

It ain't. You're right, as its definitions include, "idiot", "A person who masturbates to pictures of used underwear auctions on ebay possibly because they cannot access any other internet porn", and worse. Wink

Sorry about that; it obviously wasn't intended to be offensive, as I usually explicitly include myself and that definition clearly does not apply (in this case).

Guess I'll have to find another term for "a person on the internet expressing opinions with no formal, universally recognized, personal expertise relevant to the topic".
Internet pundits? Nope; that implies authority.
Internet peons? Closer, but with too much baggage.
???

Here's an easier definition.
Racist: anyone winning an argument with a liberal.

FWIW, Capetonian, I find your posts, especially regarding the energy industry, anything but "wanky".

Not yet; the water's still too cold. Dirt biking is too painful, so the next best activity is writing, which has always altered my consciousness like nothing else I know and has shaped my life, career, health, finances, personal freedoms, and much more, often dramatically, for > 60 years. Next is probably learning, which is integral to writing.

Every breathing person is dying, and having terminal cancer does not mean one is "sick"; I have other disabilities worse than my present cancer symptoms. My primary cancer can kill in months or over years; I have reason to believe mine falls in the latter category, now that I've treated it once. The literature suggests I will get "sick" in about 7 years, up from 3-4 with older data, and that incapacitating treatment should begin before then. It pisses me off to no end, though, that I'd be cured if my VA doctor hadn't ignored it until it was not curable. His ignorance cut something like 11 years off my life expectancy.

Your "Names and numbers" comment escapes me.

If I wanted to live somewhere else, or do any major thing different or differently, I'd do them.

Ah, Mr. B, but look at the bright side. He's providing much amusement and entertainment for the sane and rational in his audience, and he's providing validation and empathy for the like-minded fruitcakes in his audience.

Cape. Thanks for the good stuff you post here.
If your eye slides past Iso comments then he doesn't exist for you.
There is nothing there to read of value.
