I like many "over income achievers" am tired of earning more than I need. I've slowed down to smell the obamacare rose....

Asset inflation is upon us. Corporations are squeezing payrolls rather than adding production. America is becoming poorer, despite asset inflation. The rich are getting richer again. THE OBAMA OLIGARCHS ARE PLEASED.

The only thing that has change since Bush is the color of the Chalatan.

An allegory dreamed up with drinking buddies in college: You're drinking with a woman. You tickle her and undo her bra as she laughs. More tickling as you disrobe her. As she says no, but continues to laugh. Finally naked and drunk she's laughing because of all the distractions. Your hands never stop moving and the jokes are flying. She laughs as you continue for the homerun. Was it rape? When you are both sober it sure was...

I feel the same way with Obamacare. When we sober up, it will feel like rape.

The question isn't if we will see more insurance costs, the question is will we(the US) be spending/paying more for healthcare overall. I think not. As Michael Milken says, health and healthcare is the #1 economic issue in this country, and if people have access to health care, they will make better economic choices, be healthier, and more productive. So, the net result could be quite positive. But, I dont want to rain on your negative parade....so carry on.

Some here complain about the "cooked" statistics in one place, while they are perfectly willing to buy one-sided "analysis" to prove their point in another.

Yes, let's just concentrate on the cost side and leave the benefit side out of the discussion.

You guys act like, "If it weren't for Obamacare, my premiums wouldn't go up." Everyones premiums would be going up, they would be going up no matter what, just as they have for the past 30 years. The point is, that we should be getting more for our money. I will be anxious to see that this happens, and for the record, I'm 110% in favor of a single payer system; there are alot of flaws in Obamacare.

prepare for Mickey's meandering screed in three....two...one....

Could healthcare costs be going up because we have an aging population, no real competition or bargaining in pharmaceuticals (thanks to Bush II), and unconscionable profitting?

No, it is Obama's fault.

Thank you, I will.

You a closet conservative? Kidding!!!!!
I know you trust Michael Milken, good for you.

Of course everyone's rates have been going up, ever heard of front loading? Why would the Ins. Co's. be front loading?
Just maybe they know what's coming.

No need for screed. You just declared yourself a socialist. I'm right of center. Your privilege, my privilege.

President Obama was very clear on many, many occasions. The ACA will cost $900 billion over 10 years, 30 million previously uninsured will now be covered, a family's premium costs will reduce by about $2,500 a year, and the deficit will reduce by $1 trillion over the next 20 years. We should all know quite soon whether he will deliver on those promises.

From fact check...a balanced critique

http://www.factcheck.org/2011/10/factchecking-health-insurance-premiums/

This reminds me a bit of the global warming/cooling debate. Both sides will select a short term trend to claim success or failure. Both sides will pick the statistics that support their view.

I spend 5 minutes on the Drudge Report every morning..Then when I encounter one of the mindless arguments from the right...like yours.. I already know its coming. Its like stealing a sign from a teammate on second base.
Great example of Drudge's work today is the headline of .4% growth in the 4th quarter. Today is the last trading day of the 1st quarter, a quarter which probably saw the economy grow at 2.7%. BUT, Drudge is informing his minions that the economy grew at .4%. Throw in Dr. Doom's prediction, a picture of some guy in a bank line in Cyprus...and its no wonder that you guys are terminally negative.

Lessee ... Factcheck circa 2011 vs Sibelius, the agencies that determine premium cost, and the CBO, all circa 2013 ...

And the winner is ... THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY ... until the $#!+ hits the fan this year and next and voters realize they've been literally scammed.
