Florida wind season has finally started!

Yesterday, Due north wind at 17 to 23 mph.
Boynton Inlet yesterday was 6.2 sails with one to three foot waves on the sand bar. Just me and French windsurfer, John sailing. No whitecaps and good wind. Funny how north wind does not generate whitecaps at the inlet.
Today, reports are already stronger with northeast wind 22 to 26 mph.
Saturday looks even better!

Normally our wind season starts in September and runs until May.
El niņo years give us great wind. No El Nino yet this year.
Last year was one of the worst wind years I can remember.

Let's hope this year is better.

Looks like Sandy will give you some rather serious wind.

This morning I received an eye witness report from Jacksonville and saw the digital reports. 25 to 35 mpgh out of the NW with little rain. That's great, but I'm waiting for the storm to pass before travelling. I will miss it.

Smoking at Fred Howard Park in Tarpon Springs. Around 30mph ,gusting to 38. Really powered up on an older 4.4 Gastra. (really need a newer sail for a day at 30 mph.)That was Saturday, Sunday looks to be in the low 20mph range.Looks like a 5.0 day!!! Mark
