That cable is, so far, the smoking coverup gun. According to Adm Lyons, retired Pacific Fleet Commander (um ... that's a 4 star general officer, the classic 1,000-pound gorilla, for those not familiar with higher ranks) included these statements in his WA Times article on why we need :
Obama needs to come clean on what happened in Benghazi;.

Wow the washingtimes, owned and run by Rev Sun Yung MOON, ie the founder of the moonies and a south korean with ties to North Korea.

Remember the moonies in the airports back in the 60s and 70s pan handling money that caused laws to be made to stop their relentless harassment.

Yes Rev Moonie is a owner of the right wing owned media.

Just google "moonie" and you get to read about this cult....

Now as far as a general shooting off his mouth, well as we know in general of officers it is about 9 to 1 that are right wingers. With some that are obviously not in love with democracy... remember they are elite members of the largest socialistic system in the history of mankind.

This fiasco just keeps getting worse. The administration's cowardice at the topmost level has shaken our military from the 4-star level to the one-stripe level by violating its most basic tenet: We got your back. Before modern communications and transportation marvels, a military had to have enough forces "right there" when a battle erupted. Today's incredible communications and quick-response logistics obviate that need, allowing for much leaner forces. We've honed that capacity to a fine edge in the middle east, where drones and satcom and battlefield computers and Mach 2 fighter-bombers with laser-guided ordnance and AC 130s which can put 105mm cannon shells onto every blade of grass on a laser- or GPS-designated football field in seconds from a mile away and Army/Navy/Marine/USAF/CIA special ops capabilities even Hollywood can't imagine have been reacting within minutes many times every day for 11 years at the first call for help. That's how the modern U.S. military is designed to work, and it is very effective.

ALL OF THOSE ASSETS had either already been in place for days or had been moved within striking range expressly for the Libyan embassies as the three embassies came under attack. The 3- and 4-star regional/continental commanders of each of these forces and many more, plus their administration superiors at State and the White House's NSC Situation Room, watched and listened to every minute of the attack real time and took desperate "911" calls from those under fire. Every CIA and military commander was accustomed to, fully expecting, and operationally ready for an instant "GO" relayed from Panetta the instant the White House uttered it. The rescue operation differed from hundreds they had all performed before in essentially only one way: it was in the public eye, just before an election, on American soil, [with a sniveling self-centered "electoral coward" in command, I might add]. Response times for all these assets were, for example:
F-16s from Italy: 25 minutes.
Delta Force, which was moved nearer Benghazi in response to this attack but was ordered to stand down: 2.5 hours.
Marine and Army spooks specializing in exactly this scenario ... similar times.
CIA: half a damned mile.
AC-130s: 2 hours.
All were within the time of the first 9/11 assault on Benghazi, let alone the second wave. All were ordered to stand down.

The entire purpose of an embassy's on-site defense forces is to delay attacking forces long enough for those infinitely more powerful forces ... the cavalry ... to respond. Every present and past member of our armed forces is now learning that this time the White House just sat there for hours and hours and hours and watched them die, despite a record total glut of live audio and video real time intel from many sources.

The sources for this were two recently retired senior CIA and special forces operatives who performed operations like this for a living for decades and have contacts from the highest levels of the Pentagon (probably the NSC) to spider holes in Iraq. Hard evidence included classified cables from Benghazi.

Does even ONE lefty here, or any NBC/BSNBC fan, comprehend what this betrayal of your nation does to the morale, size, and effectiveness of the military forces that protect your family?

I mentioned that I post this stuff for lurkers with open minds, not for the closed-minded Beevis & Butthead fools that joke and snipe about and deliberately obfuscate things this deadly serious to the long-term future of the free world. A couple of them just clip and post left wing stuff not even related to the discussion from sites like Moveon.org. One writes pages longer than mine but indecipherable because they're so off topic and misleading because they so distort what was actually posted. A for effort, F for relevance; Proving that a polar bear name Roscoe died does not prove the Pacific coast will reach coboardhead's house at 6,000 feet outside of Denver because I don't have solar power. The rest don't even know enough about any issues to do any more than cup their hands under their armpits and flap their arms.

So it's time I asked: Are there any open-minded lurkers here gleaning ANYTHING from these political threads, or are the informed contributors here just emitting sound waves in a forest devoid of inquiring minds? Even a small handful of simple "We're here" responses from them would let Bard, Mat'ty, NW30, Mrgybe, me, et.al. know we're doing more than just hosing down the great unwashed dumb masses who are wearing condoms over their heads to protect them from external thought and adult behavior.

(Sure, I have a selective condom over my screen, too, but it's filtering far more yellow bath water than it is clean cherubs. Whenever I add a new "Beevis" or "Butthead" to it, I enter 90 days as a trial period, after which they appear again. If they haven't grown up in that time, they get a 365 or a 1,000 day suspension. Why walk through a briar patch naked when hip boots are a click away?)

However ... and bad news for Beevis & Butthead ... writing it helps me, too, because researching it helps cut through the fog of war and the media fog piled on top of that. (I say helps because it only helps; it does not mean either fog is completely dispersed.) I thus learn from my own posts and from the other thoughtful and relevant ones here, which is a step in the right direction.

Even more encouraging is that when I'm Googling important current events, my own posts in this and other forums sometimes appear on the first page of hits. That implies lurkers far beyond the list of current iWS viewers (as long as I'm not searching for specific phrases of my own), which implies that some of us in this forum are doing a little bit of good.

Is isobars' call for attention here going to be ignored? Yes, because most thoughtful folks recognize that his rants are way beyond being balanced and circumspect in nature. Predictably, they are always laced with hate and rancor for government and the majority of Americans. I've noticed that even those on the right here attempt to keep some distance from isobars and the more extreme views that he blatantly promotes.

Both arms at the same time? That sounds really difficult. Is it the arm fart equivalent of BFF?
