Hi Gang,
Forecaster Mark Neveu did a great job calling for today's afternoon MARINE SURGE 24 hours in advance!
Looking at the imagery below notice in the last satellite image the famed Berkeley "T" in the fog. Typically this "T" causes Berkeley to blast. And blast it did as the "T" hit the shore with wind averages in the mid 20's and gusts into the low 30's. And then....... the "T" slid right to crest of the East Bay hills. To see why some of the Berkeley & Ashby crowd are still swimming take a look at the Berkeley wind graph:

Damn! The Bay Area sure has some beautiful weather patterns!!!!

Palo Alto Wednesday was a bonus day surprise!. (I guess not quite a surprise with a "marine surge" in fricken October!!)
Most on 5.5 and 6.5 for the bigger sailors.

The launch was warm and sunny at 5 PM - had to plod out to the wind/fog line past Brooks Is - and then it was amazing - dark and spooky, but strong wind with a high swell. You'd never know it by looking out form the shore - only the fact that a kite was barley visible gave a clue.

Marina bay was great yesterday, like veterduet said, quite a way out to the windline, but then it was ripping. Being deep into that fog was eerie! Couldn't see anyone else in the dark mist.
