Tried to put a tuttle fin from an old roberts into a starboard carve. Base was too big to go into the slot (no jokes please). Did tuttle fins box size change over the years? |

Quality control problem.
The original molds are the same size, the factory makes them tight or loose, nothing sandpaper and some judicious elbow grease doesn't cure with time and effort. |

Starboards have notoriously shallow Tuttle boxes that require the narrow end of the trapezoid Tuttle base to be trimmed back. Often the fin is very tight side-to-side as well. Worse still, Cobra has a penchant for coating the inside of the fin box with a gooey black paint that is very sticky.
Use a file and then razor blade to scrape the base instead of sandpaper. Fit the fin and then scrap off the black spots where the fin is contacting the inside of the fin box. |

My g/f's Futura tuttlebox fits all my tuttle fins and the original Drake. |
