Anyone launch from there lately? Would 30mph at Rooster mean at least 4.2 sails for average size people?
I've only sailed at Dalton once. It was 20 years ago. It seemed like a decent launch at that time. It's free and way less of a hike than Rooster. |

In the pass there has been rumors of break ins of cars. I haven't sailed there in over 10 years, but sometimes when Rooster is unsailable because of 80 mph gusts, Dalton can be an options, but we usually go to Stevenson as a second choice.. |

Yeah, it is a worry about leaving the car there. the sailing is good, but no one goes there anymore. I have parked on the side of the ramp (not blocking it) on days there are no fisherman. |

Yeah, you should be able to see them now... for what its worth, if you can't make it back to the boat ramp, its almost better to just do a downwinder to Rooster. Probably not quite so bad now that the water level is low, but west of boat ramp the shores are muddy rather than sandy... at higher water levels, the shoreline is choked with logs & branches, and its a tedious, nasty walk of shame back to the ramp. |
