Time for a reality check.
.

Here's a quick reality check. In the real world the lead spokesman and attorney for the "Friends" has already been convicted for lying to the Department of Justice. Of course he would never try to pull a fast one on us. He's a trustworthy fella.

"Convicted?" Please provide source that substantiates this.

If that's true, it's not out of character for environmental causes. The Sierra Club was excoriated and threatened by a federal judge after they were caught fabricating an endangered species in their quest to end off-road vehicle use, Al Gore, I've witnessed Wilderness Society lunacy at the federal level, and far too many environmental activists are "mental" first, "enviro" second. These precedents (and those of developers in general) give "Friends" (and Naito) a tough credibility challenge to meet. (Of course, I have to laugh at the irony of someone accused of lying to the DoJ.)

Environmentalists attack wake-boarding plan in Hood River
http://www.katu.com/politics/Environmentalists-try-to-stop-wake-boarding-park-in-Hood-River-164538576.html

"In many ways it is a battle for the soul of Hood River," said Brent Foster, the attorney for Friends of the Hood River Waterfront, Center for Biological Diversity and Northwest Environmental Defense Center.

Foster is the former executive director of Columbia Riverkeeper and was the top environmental aide to former state attorney general John Kroger. Foster resigned and was suspended from the bar for 30 days after admitting he lied when he denied taking a water sample to support a criminal pollution case against a Hood River juice factory.

Given those facts, his only offense, IMO, is lying about it.

What I'm pointing out is that he is an admitted liar. If he was willing to lie to the Feds to help get someone convicted of a felony isn't it within the realm of possibility that he would lie to help a hotel get some free landscaping?

Well, sure ... he's an activist. They often bend or break rules, and that's wrong. I'd have to know more about his lie to judge it, and my judgment of it is immaterial to this discussion.

Easy to look up. A simple web search found this. His partner/associate/assistant took the legal water sample. For stupidy reasons, he said he took it when questioned. So the EVIDENCE wasn't tampered with, or lied about. Just the chain of custody (which I'm sure the other lawyer was fighting to get excluded).

But what cracks me up is the big deal about it. EVERYBODY lies in court. I guarantee when "mike phillips" gets a ticket for not stopping at a stop sign and goes to court he will lie and say he stopped. Everybody lies from the president on down. What is more important is what the lie was for...

And this "opinion" comes from 29 years of law enforcement and watching "good people" lie in court.....

Yeah, what's the big deal? So what if somebody refused to sell his port property to some "connected" developers so they set him up with a bogus pollution charge. So what if their plan had succeeded an innocent man would have gone to federal prison for 20 years. What's the big deal? Come on people, as johnl says "everyone lies." Everyone needs to just chill out and let the Port spend $2 million of our money however they see fit. Of course the Friends are lying but we need to just trust they are lying for our own good.

Wow others are right you are kind of brainless. You need to read more than one news article. Try reading this one.

http://www.oregonlive.com/news/index.ssf/2010/05/details_surface_on_brent_foste.html?mobRedir=false

It says THAT water sample is not being used but they are still prosecuting based on other samples. So much for baseless prosecution... However the cool thing about law is everybody IS innocent until proven guilty. You must have forgotten that...
