| Were there any issues with the quality/breakage of Powerex 100% SDM's around '08? I saw what appeared to be an unrealistic price on one recently. |

| I got tired of older Powerex SDMs peeling, then splintering, then snapping just above the boom, where the blazing sun hits them all day. I demand more durability i my masts, as I already get to swim much more than I want to just because of fickle wind. |

Still using Blues and Greens from the mid '90's.
Still using the black ones with white and with yellow labels from the late 90's.
Fibs break, PX holds up nicely. |

I have an 08 or 09 Power 100% SDM 430 that is going strong. I've had it for a couple of years now with no problems.

| My 1st px was from the 80s green 460 still going strong. I had a 460 break after 3yrs of use. A year later I had a chat with Peter the plt. mgr in utah. He replaced the 460 and sent me a new 430 rdm at no charge. Best sevice you could ask for. To date I have 5 px sticks all doing well oldest about 15yrs. |

the older models, which I have STILL 2 and they are in use, the 460,100% is a brilliant mast and it works better than a RDM on my sails.
I have seen some broken masts of this era in the place where mentioned.
My thoughts are Powerex quality in this era is as ggod as any, and quite a few were made, therefore breakage "may seem more common"
they sold more so more potential to have more break.........
the purchase of any USED mast always has the potential of a disaster,
to pay a high price for a pobbible unknown quantity seem like a not so good decision _________________ Rights in Rodanthe |

I have three powerex rdm's; one built in 1993 and the other two built in 1994. They're increadible, work great, and I have no plans to replace them. I don't know what the new production is like though. _________________ Kansas City |
