Or more specifically, Coquina Beach!
UPDATE: wind forecast looking even BETTER, but shifting later in the week. who knows when, but wind and swell direction will definitely be there. I am sure IWS forecasters here will be on top of it as we move into the IWS forecast range as well.
Next week shows frankly an epic wave sailing forecast for the OBX! Its one week prior to Wave Jam, but any long weekend warriors who will be here for Labor Day weekend and can extend it, this could be the best line up in years!
This:
Equals this!
That pic was from 2009 H Bill long period swell which is tracking nearly identical to what we have coming with H Kirk and likely H Leslie. Long period SE swell, SSW moderate wind, and a floaty wave kit equals....!
All in all, it could be EPIC here! Definitely would be nice if it was a week later for Wave Jam, but this upcoming tune up is going to really be FUN!!
Who's going to be here?!

Def pushing things around here for Tues-Wens.
Maybe not the juice of Bill, but not bad.....this is the kind of storm we need....not flooding-or knockdown trees
BUT you did use the "E-word"......

looks like forecast is shifting to Wed/Thursday. Likely it will be hard to nail specifically what the wind speeds will be during the window; however, the swell will surely be here, and as long as there is any SSW/SW wind from 5 mph to 25 mph, it will be awesome! Key ingredient though is that long period SE swell and SSW wind combo, where this magically fires north of Oregon Inlet.
stay tuned!

Have you seen the latest long term forecast?!
Very unpredictable this far out, but who knows...!? The primer for AWT Wave Jam week is basically ON to happen over the coming days. Start of Wave Jam week on Sept 10th... with 3 stars and big swell?! Could be an interesting Wave Jam week?!?

I am hoping Leslie stays about where she is and is forcasted for the next 2 weeks.
She may be our best hope for swell
Wind looks interesting for OBX to NE on Late sunday and Monday
Hope it shapes up for the end of next week
