if the media was liberal it would be front page and heard on all challes every 15 minutes.

GOP congressmen told activists to thank Sens. Manchin and Sinema for holding firm on the filibuster.
"Without that, we would be dead meat, and this thing would be done," a GOP congressman said.
The filibuster has emerged as a barrier to a major chunk of Biden's agenda.
See more stories on Insider's business page.
Several Republican lawmakers were secretly filmed imploring conservative activists to flood a pair of centrist Democrats with messages of gratitude for holding firm on the filibuster, a 60-vote threshold that most bills need to clear the Senate.

The Democratic activist Lauren Windsor posted the video on Friday, two days after posting another one showing a GOP congressman calling for "18 more months of chaos" to jam Democrats. Both sets of remarks were made on June 29 at a Patriot Voices event attended by a large group of conservatives.

In the newest video, Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona could be heard saying Democrats were "pushing as far as they can" to enact President Joe Biden's agenda.

"Fortunately for us, the filibuster's still in effect in the Senate. Without that, we would be dead meat, and this thing would be done," he said. "Then we'd be having a little bit more frantic discussion than we're having today."

"But thank goodness for Sinema and Joe Manchin," he said, referring to Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, both of whom have resisted a mounting chorus of Democratic calls to abolish the filibuster.

Rep. Byron Donalds of Florida could then be heard urging activists to call the pair of centrist Democrats and thank them for refusing to blow up the filibuster.

"All of you in this room, people at home on Zoom, let me tell you right now, if you want to do one thing to keep the republic afloat, call Joe Manchin's office, call Kyrsten Sinema's office," he said.

Donald's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Biggs's office declined to comment on the record.

The filibuster has emerged as a barrier to a substantial chunk of Biden's agenda on the economy, voting rights, policing reform, and immigration. Given a Democratic majority that relies on a tiebreaking vote from Vice President Kamala Harris, many in the party have called to get rid of it so that they can pass legislation without Republicans.

But Manchin and Sinema have dug in on preserving it. "There is no circumstance in which I will vote to eliminate or weaken the filibuster," Manchin wrote in a Washington Post op-ed article in April.

Rick Santorum, a former Republican senator and 2016 GOP primary candidate who attended the event, acknowledged the difficulty Republicans face in rolling back social programs once they're in place - possibly a reference to their failed attempt to scrap the Affordable Care Act in 2017 and to others proposing cuts to safety-net programs like Medicare and Social Security.

"It's a lot easier to pass giveaways than it is to take them away. And everybody thinks, 'Oh, well, you know, we'll just take them away,'" he said in the video. "No, we won't! No, we won't."

here is a writer that gets it... you will not hear this perspective in the right wing owned media. bush never criticized Trump... and trump set the timeline to be out of Afghanistan. no peep from the idiot Bush.

but now a dem in office and here he is... and we do not hear this point in other media.

gee mission accomplished wasn't it under his tour of duty? actually he was AWOL.

https://news.yahoo.com/time-george-w-bush-stand-215954908.html

It’s Time for George W. Bush to Stand Down and Shut Up

Quote:
George W. Bush, who chose to remain quiet as a churchmouse in the face of almost all of Donald Trump’s crimes and abuses as president, has chosen this moment to offer a critique of a decision of Joe Biden’s.

George W. Bush, who is responsible for the biggest foreign policy catastrophe in U.S. history with the disastrous invasion of Iraq, has chosen this moment to give Joe Biden foreign policy advice.

George W. Bush, who has been at times complicit and at times silent in the face of his own political party’s serial assaults on the rights and dignity of women in America, has chosen this moment to lament what Joe Biden’s decision to at long last pull our troops out of Afghanistan to express his concern for the rights of the women of that country.

Donald Rumsfeld, Killer of 400,000 People, Dies Peacefully

Yes, the George W. Bush who launched what has become the longest war in American history, a trillion-dollar plus fiasco that cost the lives of over 2300 American military personnel and of between 35,000 and 40,000 civilians in Afghanistan, has violated his self-imposed policy of not commenting on the policies of his Oval Office successors to condemn Biden’s decision to finally end that war.

He told a German broadcaster, “I think the consequences are going to be unbelievably bad.” He added, “Afghan women and girls are going to suffer unspeakable harm. This is a mistake. They’re just going to be left behind to be slaughtered by these very brutal people and it breaks my heart.”

Never mind, that during the 20 years of America’s troop presence in Afghanistan, the U.S. was unable to remake the political and cultural reality of that country enough to defang the extremists who are likely to attack those women and girls, to strengthen the central government and military sufficiently to provide on-going, long term security for those women and girls, to knit together a global coalition and diplomatic mechanisms that are tough or effective enough to provide the protection those women and girls deserve. Two decades of war and loss and deployed U.S. and coalition troops were not enough to send a message to the Taliban that they would pay a high cost for again seeking to translate their twisted, thousand-year-old world view into a hellish reality for the women and girls of Afghanistan.

Bush, who did not criticize the drawdowns in Afghanistan by Obama and then Trump, apparently felt compelled to attack Biden’s plan to pull out the last U.S. troops from that country. Never mind that is precisely what Trump also said he would do. Never mind that Obama said it was his ultimate goal, as well.

So if you read the CDC she at least did reference, it stated ZERO of the vaccinated died. Well the CDC one claims 100% of the vaccinated did not die in the cited document, that being IMHO the most important. And that was not important to note in her right wing trash journalism..

Sharyl Attkisson (born January 26, 1961)[3] is an American journalist and television correspondent.[4][5] She hosts the Sinclair Broadcast Group TV show Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson.[6]

Attkisson is a five-time Emmy Award winner, and a Radio Television Digital News Association (RTNDA) Edward R. Murrow Award recipient. NYT hated hillary, no liberal would have posted about benganzi or the clinton foundation. They ran more attacks on her than on trump. note fox just did not even cover trup negative stories much of the time. So apples to oranges in the differential of the two media sides, one is 100% rally for hateers. the other is we go after anyone. But even with this the right wing media is way more accounted for. They did not even put in ruppys wall street journal the number 1 paper in the USA.

High-Profile Republican Donor, Newly Selected College GOP Chapter Leader Arrested for Alleged Sex Trafficking of Minors: Authorities

but because it is a right winger top of the media ultra right wing show. well not a word. crickets...

again he is apparently drug addict apparently abusing his prescription and under the influence bringing a gun out to intimidate a persons life. and crickets from the media... If there was a liberal media this would sink his career and sink the other right wingers running in this recall election.

Elder disputes showing gun to ex-fiancee in heated argument

Quote:
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The former fiancee of Larry Elder said Thursday that the conservative radio talk show host now running for governor in California showed her a gun during a heated argument in 2015.

Elder, widely seen as the leader in the Republican field running to replace Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom in next month's recall election, issued a statement saying “I have never brandished a gun at anyone." Elder, who is seeking to become California's first Black governor, noted that he grew up in South Los Angeles, an area with high violent crime.

“I know exactly how destructive this type of behavior is,” he said.

Alexandra Datig's accusation, first reported by Politico, comes with less than four weeks until the Sept. 14 election and at a time when mail-in ballots already have arrived at voters' homes. Elder said he intended to “stay focused on the issues” that inspired the recall drive by Republicans upset with Newsom's progressive policies and handling of the pandemic.

His campaign said he was planning weekend rallies.

Datig, 51 and a longtime Los Angeles resident, said she worked on Elder's show and they lived together during their 18-month romantic relationship from 2013 to 2015. A letter and other records provided by Datig to The Associated Press – including an April 6, 2015, email in which she wrote about the collapse of their engagement — sketched a portrait of an emotionally abusive relationship in which Elder routinely was using medicinal marijuana to excess.

In this undated photo provided by Alexandra Datig, Larry Elder, a Republican candidate in the recall against Gov. Gavin Newsom poses with Datig his former fiancee. Datig said Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, that Elder once displayed a gun to her during a heated argument in 2015. Elder said he never brandished a gun at anyone. Datig claims Elder was high during the 2015 argument and went to a cabinet where he kept his gun “and made sure it was in my view.”

“He did not point it at me, but he wanted to make sure that I knew that he was checking" to see it was loaded, she told the AP.

Threatening another person with a firearm could be a criminal offense but Datig said she never reported it to police.

Elder did not specifically address the claim about cannabis use in questions submitted to his campaign by AP. His statement in response to Datig’s claims of abuse referred broadly to “salacious allegations.”

“People do not get into public life precisely because of this type of politics of personal destruction. I am not going to dignify this with a response — it’s beneath me,” Elder wrote. A short time later he tweeted: “They’re coming at me with every dirty trick because they know what’s coming on September 14."

Datig supports one of Elder’s Republican rivals, former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer. Earlier this week Faulconer began targeting Elder with criticism and specifically questioning his attitudes about women, noting among other things that Elder had written that employers should be able to ask women if and when they plan to get pregnant.

“Larry Elder doesn’t have the judgment or character to lead our state,” Faulconer said in response to Datig’s allegations.

Another Republican in the race, state Assemblyman Kevin Kiley, said in a statement that he found Datig's claims disturbing.

“I believe that any woman who comes forward deserves to be heard, and Ms. Datig’s deeply troubling account should be treated with the utmost seriousness. Mr. Elder should be given every opportunity to respond,” he said.

However, in a televised debate Thursday night with Faulconer, Kiley and fellow GOP candidate John Cox, the issue never came up.

Elder entered the race in July and Datig said she waited until now to come forward because she initially didn't think he would be competitive.

“I didn’t take it seriously but when Larry started to trend and become the frontrunner, I became extremely concerned,” she said.

The documents provided by Datig described months of emotional distress from the unraveling romantic and business relationship. “I feel trapped and afraid,” she wrote in the mail.

Datig also provided the AP with a copy of a confidentiality agreement she signed in 2014 barring her from speaking about the “personal and business affairs” of Elder and his business, Laurence A. Elder & Associates, Inc. She said she was breaking it to go public with her accusations.

A March 31, 2015, letter from her attorney to Elder asked for $6,000 in monthly support for Datig for one year, to cover expenses including rent, car and health care costs. She also asked for $195,000 for public relations, marketing and other services she said she provided for his show.

The two ultimately signed an agreement on April 13, 2015, for Elder to pay Datig $20,000 and cover the cost of her $5,000 legal retainer and $185 to dry clean her wedding dress. Elder agreed he and his assistant would sign a nondisclosure agreement regarding anything to do with Datig, that he would write her a letter of recommendation for her work product, and that they two would “halt mutual insults."

Datig refers to herself as a sex trafficking survivor and has publicly disclosed working for so-called former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss, who was convicted in the mid-1990s of running a high-priced call-girl ring, a conviction that was later overturned. Fleiss was later sentenced to federal prison for cheating on her taxes and laundering call-girl profits. In a 2013 interview with KCAL-TV, Datig described becoming an informant on Fleiss.

Manoogian, 29, obtained a protection order last week from a judge, a few days after Marino, 32, was removed from House committees for alleged abuse. State police are investigating.
