again the right wing quote the so called liberal media and it is basically they claim 2 newspapers in the entire country and 2 cable tv

again the washngton Post is owned by a right-winger, and the NYT if liberal would have known the email bs was fake news, and as shown they use to put it page 1, now that the trump administration is finally done with the what 20 investigation and 10 years of time. well again now time to put it page 16. a real liberal would have put it as I did front page. 10 friggen years and even theright wing in-justice by the il-legitimate rapist could not find a grand jury to indict her. so page 16.

For the hundredth solid counterexample to this thread's topic ...
When the special forces got Hussein -- OOPS; Bin Laden ... under Obama's watch (Thanks, Boggs; I do peek now and then), the shitstream media and its mindless followers from the Congress to Podunk praised Obama endlessly and shamelessly for it.

When the special forces got al Baghdadi under Trump's watch, the shitstream media and its mindless followers from the Congress to Podunk vilified Trump endlessly and shamelessly. An insane leading CNN so-called "journalist" labeled him a murderer because "no human being deserves to die". (So who the hell considers Alibaba a human being anyway?)

And "Slain leader al Baghdadi was an academic cleric"? REALLY? Even the Catholic church is satisfied with "merely" molesting children, but this guy slowly beheaded them, yet the shitstream media mourns his death and praises his martyrdom, and Dean apparently defends them.

Hey shiiite for no-brains, lets see the links to the media that said specifically what you said, remember it is Trump whos sudden withdrawal without any feedback from the military that not only potentially jeopardized his killing but put our troops who got this right winger in increased harms way because of his actions without feedback. Now if that would have been a dem fing over the military like that the media would had have eaten the libereral alive.

You really are so friggen stupid that its is amazing they do not classify you as a brain dead in-human.

here cry baby low to no level non-thinker... here is another example of a liberal medi that tried to put oon right wingers who are well go McVeigh and get fired. Your fired idiot...

The Toughest Job in Journalism Is Defending Trump on CNN
Sean Duffy is surely next in the network’s long line of disappeared surrogates for the president.

By JACK SHAFER October 30, 2019
Jack Shafer is Politico’s senior media writer.

Share on Facebook Share on Twitter
“Congratulations for joining the CNN family,” State of the Union anchor Jake Tapper said on-air to former Republican member of the House of Representative Sean Duffy on October 20, as the congressman commenced his duties as one of the network’s paid contributors expected to defend President Donald Trump. Tapper’s welcome was heartfelt. But had Tapper placed honesty in front of manners, he would have warned Duffy that he just had volunteered for a mission—defending Trumpism on CNN—that’s more perilous than taking the beach at Normandy.

CNN’s paid Trump defenders—more on them in a minute—have a tendency to self-destruct either by word or deed in short order, making a public warning the decent thing to do. Unwarned, Duffy used his CNN position to advance Trump’s spurious position that Ukrainians have possession of the Democratic National Committee’s server, which is “at the heart of the Russia investigation.”

But Duffy didn’t actually commit media seppuku until Tuesday when he went on CNN to question the patriotism of Ukrainian-born Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the White House insider who had just wounded Trump with testimony in the House’s impeachment inquiry.

“It seems very clear that [Vindman] is incredibly concerned about Ukrainian defense. I don’t know that he’s concerned about American policy,” said Duffy, accusing the decorated officer of dual loyalty. “We all have an affinity to our homeland, where we came from.”

Kablooey!!! Immediate pushback came from inside CNN. Anchor John Berman asked if Duffy was saying Vindman wasn’t looking out for America first. “I don’t know,” Duffy said. CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, CNN afternoon anchor Brianna Keilar and CNN editor-at-large Chris Cillizza took more shots at Duffy, accusing him of anti-immigrant bigotry, as did the rest of the media universe.

There’s an amply documented pattern of Trump’s paid TV surrogates setting themselves on fire or slowly ghosting from CNN’s airwaves. The president’s original Tokyo Rose, Jeffrey Lord, was sacked in August 2017 for tweeting the phrase “Sieg Heil!” at Media Matter’s frontman Angelo Carusone. After Lord came Ed Martin, a St. Louis talk-show host and Trump loyalist who lost his CNN contract in January 2018 after calling fellow CNN contributors “black racists” and “rabid feminists.” Other short-termers on CNN’s pro-Trump beat include Jason Miller, his former campaign communications director, and Paris Dennard, both of whom left the network in 2018. In early 2019, CNN dumped another pair from its payroll—former officeholders Jack Kingston and Andre Bauer—and later that year parted ways with Trump campaign and transition veteran Bryan Lanza. The Hollywood Reporter noted in August that Steve Cortes and Ben Ferguson, Trump’s latest media spear carriers, had all but disappeared from CNN.

CNN plagues us with its endless series of Trump surrogates because the casting of the news requires proper “villains” to parry with the “heroes.” Or as CNN President Jeff Zucker put it, “You can’t run a news channel and you can’t do a show if you don’t talk to all sides.” That sounds like a sensible explanation, but it doesn’t go to the heart of the matter. The network could interview Trump supporters without putting them on the payroll. It just wouldn’t be as dramatic.

Impeachment hearings confirm Republican Party is detached from reality. What does the press do now?

Quote:
Republicans proudly advertised their radical ways during Wednesday's impeachment hearings into Donald Trump, wallowing in conspiracies and embracing debunked claims. The question now: How does the Beltway media cover a party that has aggressively removed itself from reality? How does the news business describe and treat a political party that routinely echoes the most unbelievable claims from Fox News and the darkest corners of the right-wing media?

The truth is, this is a decadeslong game of dare that Republicans have been playing with the press, as members of the party uniformly become more radical and more antidemocratic, and basically challenge the press to call them out, knowing full well it won't happen. That's because the Beltway press basically revolves around the central idea that there are two major competing parties in this country and that they are mirror opposites of each other. Republicans are just as conservative as Democrats are liberal. Republicans are just as serious as Democrats are. Republicans are just as fact-based and honorable as Democrats are. That false equivalency drives political coverage in this country, and has for decades.

Why this obsession? Because to concede that one party operates under a radically different set of guidelines (or no guidelines at all, in the case of the GOP), journalists have to do two things. They have to defend themselves against allegations of "liberal media bias," and they have to throw out the old, dependable rule book that allowed the press to lazily suggest that Republicans and Democrats function on the same plane, and therefore had to be treated similarly.

But how on earth do you watch the Republican performances during the public impeachment hearings and still cling to that claim? How do you pretend a party that spent hours asking witnesses about Alex Jones-type conspiracy theories somehow functions on a parallel track with Democrats, who spent the hearings ensconced in facts, testimony, and firsthand witness accounts?

The equivalent would be if, during a 2002 congressional hearing, Democrats had spent hours badgering witnesses with 9/11 Truther questions, and the press had pretended that it was totally normal. It's not! And neither is today's irrational and reckless GOP.

Conservative radio host says his show was abruptly canceled because he criticized Trump

Conservative radio host Craig Silverman says that for three hours every Saturday, he wanted to talk about the facts of the Trump impeachment case. But as he was doing that on November 16, Silverman was abruptly taken off the air in the middle of his show.

Silverman says the station, owned by the conservative Salem Media Group, didn't like his criticism of President Donald Trump. The station appears to have since removed the website for Silverman's show — the link to it now reroutes to a "404 Error" page.

Newsweek Axes Writer For Botched Article On Trump’s Thanksgiving
The reporter says an editor waited hours to update her story with news of the president’s surprise visit to Afghanistan.

Newsweek fired a staff writer who wrote an article asserting that President Donald Trump spent his Thanksgiving tweeting and golfing and did not mention his visit to U.S. troops in Afghanistan ― a trip that had not yet been announced when the piece published.

On Saturday, the Washington Examiner reported that the publication axed Jessica Kwong for the story. Kwong told the Examiner that she was assigned the story in advance with a deadline before Thanksgiving. On Thursday morning, she updated the editor on duty with the latest information she had and the story was published, she told the Examiner. The headline initially read: “How is Trump spending Thanksgiving? Tweeting, golfing and more.”

The editor had another reporter write a story when the president’s Afghanistan trip was later announced and did not immediately update Kwong’s piece, she told the Examiner.

A note at the bottom of Kwong’s article states that it was “substantially updated and edited at 6:17 pm EST to reflect the president’s surprise trip to Afghanistan” ― several hours after the press heard about the trip.

Shortly before the update to Kwong’s story, Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. took aim at the story on Twitter, writing, “Fake news gonna fake!” Chiming in, the president later quipped, “I thought Newsweek was out of business?”

In a tweet, Kwong noted that the story, headline and a matching tweet on her account had been written before Trump’s trip was revealed, conceding it was “an honest mistake.”

In a statement to the Examiner, Newsweek said that it “investigated the failures that led to the publication of the inaccurate report that President Trump spent Thanksgiving tweeting and golfing rather than visiting troops in Afghanistan.”

“The story has been corrected, and the journalist responsible has been terminated,” it added. “We will continue to review our processes and, if required, take further action.”

Neither Kwong nor Newsweek immediately responded to HuffPost’s requests for comment.

Trump impeachment media coverage seems to criticize Democrats

Quote:
The Donald Trump impeachment media coverage seems to criticize Democrats more than the indictments of the president in the articles of impeachment, according to many observers. Joy Reid and her panel discuss.
