trump bribes journalists... gee
Quote:

My reply, asking if Romney & McCain offered similar inducements, has not yet been answered. But none-the-less, noted conservative blogger / CNN contributor / Fox News contributor Erickson affirms that Trump offers bribes to journalists for favorable coverage.

This may be a big deal.

EDIT #2: Link to a more full discussion by Erickson, leading with the above quote.

texas is so pathetic that it would have allowed terrorists to make a dirty bomb legally... keep the government out of everything allows terrorists the potential to make a dirty bomb easily.

No surprises here:

Quote:
Ousted Fox News CEO Roger Ailes ran a "black room" operation from the network using private detectives, employees and contractors to spy on journalists and harass political enemies, New York magazine reported Sunday.

The magazine’s media editor, Gabriel Sherman, citing several unnamed sources, reports that Fox consultants and staff used an office dubbed "the Black Room" on the 14th floor of the News Corp headquarters in Manhattan to conducted these operations.

In recent days, Fox News has let go as many as five contractors whom Ailes hired — including Bert Solivan, who Sherman reports headed the "Black Room" operations.

Fox employees Ken LaCorte and Jim Pinkerton worked with him, while Ailes’s personal lawyer and Fox contributor Peter Johnson Jr. advised the team, according to Sherman.

You mean to expose the corrupt Shame Stream Media.?. Do you think they are capable of self-policing and adhering to journalistic standards?.I think not.

It is well know that all the major left news organizations have teams that do nothing all day but watch Fox News hoping to catch them in a lie.
Can you name the last time they had to retract a story?

Fox is not a news organization. They decided that they are an entertainment company. They could care less about the truth. Ruppy the owner made his money by changing his fathers legitimate paper in Australia to a enquirer. He made bank with the three headed front pages and bought more papers in Australia and did the same. Entertainment hate rags make bank then he brought them to other countries and his first entry into the USA was he started the "star" made bank and founded a new style enquirer called fox... entertainment. not news.

the people with the gold control what can be reported on.

Journalism has been called a “semi-profession” in part because claims to workplace autonomy have not been as firmly established as in many other professions. Even though all professions face challenges to their autonomy, the threats can be even more acute for semi-professions like journalism. In 1971, Johnstone and his colleagues speculated that journalists’ professional autonomy could be undermined by the fact that most journalists worked in large, hierarchical organizations. Our surveys of U.S. journalists since 1982 document a continuing erosion of perceived professional autonomy in the nation’s newsrooms. While a majority (60 percent) of journalists said that they had “almost complete freedom” in selecting their stories in 1971 and 1982, only a third (33.6 p

The uninformed prefer it that way. This is how Fox rolls:

Quote:
The parent company of Fox News Channel should have known about a payment as large as the $3.15 million in corporate funds reportedly paid to a former booker who claimed she was sexually harassed by Chairman Roger Ailes, the Financial Times quotes legal experts as saying.

"A settlement of that size that involved a complaint against Roger Ailes would hopefully have come to the attention of senior officials of 21st Century Fox," Charles Elson, director of Center for Corporate Governance at the University of Delaware told the FT’s Matthew Garrahan. "That it didn't from a controls standpoint raises concerns."

According to reporting by New York Magazine's Gabriel Sherman, former guest booker and event planner Laurie Luhn was paid the multi-million hush money in 2011 after reporting 20 years of “psychological torture” by Ailes.

here is the other side of right wing hero Fox, right wing slime. and right wingers support this.

oops, there is more. From the unofficial mouthpiece of the Republican Party, how they roll:

Quote:
However, Fox News parent company 21st Century Fox said it had no knowledge of the severance, which could spell criminal trouble for Ailes if it's determined he misrepresented the hush money payments on the public company’s audited financial statements.

"Willful manipulation of financial documents (within) a publicly audited company is a crime. It's a violation of securities law pretty clearly," an unnamed source tells Politico.

Politico also notes that Ailes formed a special "black ops" war room targeting New York magazine editor Gabriel Sherman, who was then working on a biography of the Fox News chairman.

The report says Ailes made physical threats against Sherman and speculates Fox News may have even obtained phone records illegally.

Politico quotes a source close to Fox News: "If it ever came out [how far Ailes went in his campaign against Sherman], multiple people at Fox would go to jail."

So far, more than two dozen women who worked at Fox have come forward with their stories of harassment at the hands of Ailes and other executives, including Megyn Kelly and Andrea Tantaros, who faces the possibility of termination for her account.

21st Century Fox has been apparently aghast at the sordid disclosures about its subsidiary.

Threats of violence by the right wing? Like that's something new?

any liberal would not bash obama for doing as the gov of that state requested.

4 of 5 CNN Viewers Agree W/Obama, John King Appears Disappointed
Quote:

John King was CNN’s rising star a decade ago but his consistent inability to do what he is supposed to be sooooo good at, which is guesstimate what America is thinking politically has bumped him to third stringer status. This morning he spent an hour steering his panel into the assumption that real Americans were aghast at the Obama/Clinton decision to listen to the Governor of Louisiana’s request to not visit his soggy state until people lives were no longer in jeopardy for a photo op. At the end of the show he revealed the results of an ambush poll of viewers asking if Obama should have zipped down to Baton Rouge to pass out some more Play-Doh. Please turn up your volume and enjoy his disappointment:
Quote:
I am not a trained, paid pundit monkey like John King or Jon Martin or Nia Maliki Equivicata but…… my guess is when most Real Americans see Donald J. Trump sending the love to American’s of color in front of bleached, country club audiences, the insincerity oozes. When they see him passing out a couple boxes of Play-Doh in a blazer then dashing off for a blood transfusion, the pandering screams.
Every time the media says Trump knocks it out of the park Hillary jumps in the polls. Every time they say he wants to put Pennsylvania in play she takes another Colorado, Virginia or… yes, Pennsylvania, off the map. I’m sorry this isn’t going to be a good horse race John but it isn’t. As much of an opaque, lying liar as he is, Trump is the most transparently awful candidate of my or any of our lifetimes.

Oh, now it’s time to watch John King’s wife Dana Bash ask the Louisiana Governor “if President Obama should have come sooner”. That would be the same Governor who told the POTUS publicly four days ago NOT to come. Not to put on a photo op. Not to act like Donald Trump. I guess the King household doesn’t read to well, huh?
