here we go again, if i owned the media as a liberal every tv show and paper and radio show would be featuring this story, on google search news in the last week, not one major media outlet has picked this up.

She a life long republican and female elected official has just quit being a republican in a public way. she says thetea party has destroyed the republican party. she says she is not leaving theparty the party left her.

Sue Wagner leaves Nevada GOP, files as nonpartisan
Associated Press
Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 | 1:27 p.m.

Quote:
RENO — Sue Wagner, a lifelong Republican and the first woman elected as Nevada lieutenant governor, has left the GOP.

Wagner said she changed her voter registration to nonpartisan several days ago out of frustration with the party's shift to the far right.

"I did it as a symbol, I guess, that I do not like the Republican Party and what they stand for today," Wagner told the Reno Gazette-Journal.

"I've been a Republican all my life," she said, adding her father was active in the GOP in Maine, where Wagner was born.

"It was more of a moderate, liberal Republican Party," she said. "It's grown so conservative and tea-party orientated, and I just can't buy into that.

"I've left the Republican Party — and it's left me, at the same time."

here is another right wing media that the right wing hear says everything is about making money for the media, but as noted by me many right wing media have never made a profit like ultra right wing largest media owner in the USA/world trust fund kid ruppies murdock hate new York post trash paper, the washington times owned by religious right wing monnie rev Moon.

well here is another one that does not care about making money, ultra right wing National Review.

http://www.salon.com/2014/01/30/a_defamation_lawsuit_may_kill_national_review/

Quote:
No matter who’s representing them, however, the outlook for the folks running National Review is grim. Linker reports that, like many political magazines, National Review has a relatively small (but influential) circulation, and frequently loses money. Breaking even is a good year. Therefore, a large settlement with Mann, or a penalty handed down by a judge, could prove catastrophic.

truly amazing show of ethics and the media is not hammering this in headlines day after day.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2014/02/06/national-republican-congressional-campaign-using-fake-democrat-websites-to-lure-voters/?hpt=hp_t1

National Republican Congressional Campaign using fake Democrat websites to lure voters

Quote:
The NRCC bought up hundreds of URLs on potential weak Democratic candidates and created sites that mimic the real ones.

It may sound deceiving, but Scarpinato insists the well-thought out, well-planned program is pure genius.

”Well, we are very proud of this program.”

Chrisie is bringing up and the media has it all over about his appointee to harm him . well he is bringing up high school things like a social studies teacher did not like the guy. the media does not mention why christie should not be fired if he knew the guy was incompitent why he appointed to a top position. The media plays that all over about the guy. here we have a issue of being a pathological liar and the media does not play it all over.

Christie is outed in a 1994 his first running for office he told people that his opponent was under investigation by morris county prosecutor. He won the election and was sued by his opponent. Christie ended up paying the opponent and had to post a retraction about his lie in the paper.

Christie lost the next election. and went to his law firm being a lobbyist and then a bundler in the Bush election. And Bush anointed him in the rovian in-justice department to be the top federal prosecutor for New Jersey. Again he had ZERO experience as a prosecutor.

Should a person who admitted being a liar to further their career ever be anointed to be a top justice department position?

will we see this admission of a proven liar in the major media? I can not find it in searches but these two examples, and one was in January. If I owned the media it would be all over, vs christie attacking his top appointed official for being a geek in high school. again the media puts that out all over but not the pathological liar stuff by a l lawyer ...

It was 1994, and Christie was a 31-year-old lawyer running for the county board in suburban Morris County, N.J. He was making a television ad, saying to the camera that his opponents were “being investigated by the Morris County prosecutor.”

Quote:

Actually, they weren’t. But Christie’s inaccurate ad ran more than 400 times on cable TV before the June GOP primary. He won.

should he have been dis-barred?

here is an interestingone I had never heard of. again if the media was liberal I would have. I learned about this on a documentary about the media and how it is controlled by the corporatists... gee go figure. called shadows of liberty.

the below person an FBI agent saw corruption at the highest level and when she reported it she was terminated and then silenced by Bush. No major paper to this date has covered her story.

Quote:
Sibel Deniz Edmonds is a former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) translator and founder of the National Security Whistleblowers Coalition (NSWBC). Edmonds gained public attention following her firing from her position as a language specialist at the FBI's Washington Field Office in March 2002. She had accused a colleague of covering up illicit activity involving foreign nationals, alleged serious security breaches and cover-ups and that intelligence had been deliberately suppressed, endangering national security. Her later claims gained her awards and fame as a whistleblower.[1]

The new documentary "Shadows of Liberty" had its U.S. premiere last night at the National Conference for Media Reform in Denver. Using individual cases of journalists whose attempts to tell their stories have been muzzled by corporations and the government, the film shows how a corporate-controlled media can silence the truth about issues ranging from war to labor practices. In one instance, CBS refused to re-air an investigation by the prize-winning journalist Roberta Baskin on Nike’s use of sweatshop labor in Vietnam. [includes rush transcript]

AMY GOODMAN: We turn right now to our last segment of the broadcast. We’re here at the National Conference on Media Reform, here in Denver, Colorado. Last night was the premiere of a film that talks about how freedom of the press in the United States is eroding under increasing corporate control. Shadows of Liberty had its U.S. premiere here at the National Conference for Media Reform. Using individual stories of journalists whose attempts to tell their stories have been muzzled by corporations and the government, the film shows how a corporate-controlled media can silence the truth and pave the way to war. The film is directed by Jean-Philippe Tremblay, who is joining us now in Denver. But first we’re going to go to the trailer of Shadows of Liberty.

once again the right wing owned media is not blasting the right wingers and and right wing media for these right wingers say america is weak for not doing something about the Ukraine.

When Putin did similar they were not saying america is weak under Bush. And again what did Bush do, well he had looked deep into Putins eyes long before that and had a love session and said pti is a nice guy.

But the point is when the top right wingers in the waco party are goinf public with their cry baby talk to get us into a war, the right wing media does not slam it into their face where were they with Bush on Georgia. and how is that Bush doctrine doing with a war that cost us 1-3 trillin dollars destroying our economy.

Here is a goup that gets it.

http://www.freepress.net/blog/2014/03/24/fccs-big-move-curb-media-consolidation?akid=4653.9524876.mhV2eS&rd=1&t=1

The Federal Communications Commission is on the verge of rolling back consolidation in TV broadcasting for the first time in three decades.

On March 31, the agency is expected to close a loophole that has allowed companies to evade federal ownership limits. If this happens, companies like Raycom and the Sinclair Broadcast Group could be forced to sell off stations and open up the airwaves to more diverse voices.

Free Press research has shown how these dangerous deals are destroying local news — and fueling the biggest wave of media consolidation in decades. We recently testified in Congress about the significance of the FCC’s move to examine these deals.

Here’s what you need to know about the FCC’s decision to rein in media consolidation.

What’s Happening

At its March 31 meeting, the FCC will vote on a proposal that would limit the use of “Joint Sales Agreements.” JSAs are part of a suite of shady outsourcing agreements companies use to control as many as four stations in one community.

That kind of consolidated ownership would normally be illegal. But companies like Gannett, Nexstar, Raycom, Sinclair and Tribune have set up shell corporations that they then sell some of their stations to — while maintaining control of much of the content and revenue. The letterhead may have a different logo but behind the scenes it’s just one company pulling the strings. JSAs allow one station to sell ads for a competing station, but these deals almost always end up as de facto consolidated ownership.

That’s why we’ve dubbed these sneaky deals “covert consolidation.” There are well over 100 examples of these types of deals around the U.S., so the FCC’s rule change would have a broad impact.

What Are the Rules

JSAs and similar agreements evade a number of the FCC’s ownership rules. According to Free Press research, companies use these agreements to evade the rules in nearly half of all U.S. media markets. In 78 communities, broadcasters have formed otherwise illegal duopolies between two of the top-ranked stations.

Here are the rules these companies have been violating:

Duopoly Rule: prohibits a single owner from controlling two or more stations in a market where there are fewer than eight unique owners
Top-Four Duopoly Rule: prohibits a single owner from controlling two or more top four-ranked stations in a given community
Newspaper-Broadcast Cross-Ownership Rule: prohibits the joint ownership of a broadcast TV station and daily newspaper in the same market
The FCC has tried to gut the 30-year-old newspaper-broadcast cross-ownership ban three times in the last eight years, but we’ve blocked them in court and in the court of public opinion. The agency recently announced that it now has no intention of relaxing this ban, representing another important win for the public interest.

Why It Matters

We need an informed public for our democracy to function. Giving a handful of corporations too much control over the media is dangerous — especially since the airwaves belong to the people.

Our policies have historically prioritized diverse, local and competitive media. In Associated Press v. United States, the Supreme Court upheld the idea that the First Amendment “rests on the assumption that the widest possible dissemination of information from diverse and antagonistic sources is essential to the welfare of the public.” This is why we have limits on how much control one person or company can have over the media.

Our research has shown that as consolidation soars, the number of diverse owners plummets. Consolidation raises barriers to entry for new owners and makes it harder for existing small owners to compete for ad dollars. If the FCC can force the biggest TV companies to divest some of their stations, we should do everything we can to ensure these broadcast licenses go to local owners who represent the diversity of their communities.

The FCC’s decision to take on the broadcasters is historic. But the broadcast lobbyists and their friends aren’t taking this lying down. We have one week to make sure the FCC sticks to its guns and stands up for the public interest.

Check out the map below to learn more about the impact of covert consolidation.

here we go a real time demo that the ownership does matter, now that the washington Post has been bought by a right wing billionaire one of their writers is telling the speaker of the senate to apologize the to the poor right wing victim one of the trust fund Koch brothers that together spent over 400 million trying to stop Obama and dems in the last election.

This washington post writer is kissing up to the oligark billionaire right wing owners of the media and influence.

Needless to say when a poor person compared to these super fund trust funders billionaires voiced his opinion, there was no defense of him, the media attacked Soros and never defended his free speech.

her positions here are so pathetic and clear she wants to keep her job by placating to the political trust funders...

here we go lets see if this makes the front pages... a top quoted media member and film maker of Obama hate a darling of the right wing.

Pleaded guilty to

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/05/20/1300806/-Dinesh-D-Souza-guilty-on-campaign-finance-charges-also-lied-in-print-about-Obama?detail=facebook#

Quote:
Now it's official. Dinesh D'Souza has admitted breaking the law. He hasn't yet admitted to having baldly lied in print about President Obama. But he's done that as well.
What D'Souza did is part and parcel of the right-wing's campaign to paint Obama as, in the words Mitt Romney used to describe the president's ideas, "extraordinarily foreign." The right has long sought to "other" Obama in various ways, from the lowbrow of birtherism to the supposedly serious analyses by conservative "intellectuals" like D'Souza.

In addition to his film The Roots of Obama's Rage, in 2010 D'Souza penned an article called "How Obama Thinks." The piece included a series of simply absurd claims—the best was the charge that, regarding NASA, Obama has sought to "convert a space agency into a Muslim and international outreach." Most importantly, D'Souza sought to explain Obama's overarching political worldview:

If I owned the media I as a real liberal would plastewr this headline every month...

Americans Are More Likely to Be Killed by Right-Wing Terrorists Than Muslims—But the Media's Afraid to Say It

http://www.alternet.org/media/americans-are-far-more-likely-be-killed-right-wing-terrorists-muslims-medias-afraid-saying-it

Quote:
Violence carried out by far Right groups or individuals, which have racism as a central component of their ideology, is of similar magnitude to that of Jihadist violence. In the years 1990 to 2010, there were 145 acts of political violence committed by the American far Right, resulting in 348 deaths. By comparison, 20 Americans were killed over the same period in acts of political violence carried out by Muslim-American civilians.
