I agree with you on the drug policy. However if you have legalized drug use, you'd better have drug testing for welfare recipients. You'd better open more morgues. You'd better prepare mothers to lose more kids earlier than expected.

As for you defending N Korea. Your ideology speaks for itself.

WOW... what timing...

as I said florida had done as you said testing people on elfare and I noted the results were they welfare people came back below the avarage for drug use. and I suggested ever person and families that get gov money handouts should be tested....

well well

Trey Radel, Representative Who Voted For SNAP Drug Testing Busted For Cocaine

Quote:
WASHINGTON Rep. Trey Radel, R-Fla., was caught buying drugs as part of a federal investigation into a Washington, D.C., drug ring last month and is being charged with cocaine possession, according to a senior Drug Enforcement Administration official.

The official, who was not authorized to speak publicly about the case, said several federal agencies working as part of a task force arrested a dealer who told them one of his cocaine customers was a congressman. The dealer, working with federal agents, set up a buy on Oct. 29, and Radel, a freshman congressman first elected last year, purchased the cocaine, the official said.

Note you do not see this one front pages of every newspaper of even the broadcast media... it is so perfect a guy who votes for others to take drug tests who receive government money and there he is ...and a right winger whos party is so called tough on crime/drugs... all the elements you need to be top billing if you were a dem in the media, but a right winger who voted for it gets a hall pass.

and to this thread topic it gets better,

Radel, 37, represents Florida's 19th Congressional District, centered in the Fort Myers-Naples area, in a seat that was vacated by Republican Connie Mack when he made an unsuccessful bid for the U.S. Senate.
Quote:

Radel is a former radio host, TV reporter and newspaper owner who was swept into office with Tea Party support. He was born and raised in Cincinnati, where his family owned a funeral home company.

maybe it went over your head.... it did finally make it but here are some problems... the abc one and other you cited did not even bring up he was a sponsor of testing welfare recipients in florida....

he was never even handcuffed and they did not even take him in when caught in October. If it would have been a dem it would have been all over the media the first day because he would have been arrested. remember they played Dr. Howard Dean victory yell minus the background noise via an isolation mike about 300 times the first day. Again because he was a dem. now this guy gets a free pass from the right wing media.

Quote:
Radel, 37, allegedly purchased a small quantity of cocaine from an undercover federal agent in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 29. but was not formally arrested, according to a law enforcement official. Agents maintained their cover and Radel went home. Later that evening, federal agents visited Radel at his home and advised him he had just purchased cocaine from a federal agent.

The charging document states that Radel "did unlawfully, knowingly, and intentionally possess a quantity of cocaine."

Radel was not cuffed and arrested, but discussions between prosecutors and his defense attorney soon began. He will appear in D.C. Superior Court Wednesday to face a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Well Baja, He was for testing....Welfare recipients. I am too. However you can be for that, and de-criminalizing drugs at the same time. If you are a farmer who smokes a joint after work that is one thing. If you are sitting on your ass for years smoking crack and collecting welfare, that's another.

Now the far right pleads for the same rights and freedoms the far left used to plead for. How sad.

OTOH, today the democrats invoke the "nuclear option", taking away the filibuster rule. A rule that had been in place since the 1700's.

They are taking our rights from us. One party rule? No need to complain about the Republicans any more.

Steve...you are wrong on the above post, BUT dont let that stop you from posting it even if it just sways one weak mind, you've succeeded!!!
Harry Reid is looking to augment the rules for voting for judges. The DC district court has three vacancies. Obamas nominees are not seeing the light of day simply because the Rethugs dont want to fill the seats with his nominees.
The nuclear option has NO bearing on legislation, just voting for judges. One of the reasons suggested for the filibusters is that many Energy companies are appealing EPA rules, and the DC district sees the appeal..Thus if there are no judges , the cases will sit, and the companies go about their business until the cases are heard, hoping for a Repub President someday.

I understand how it works, but it has been in place since our founding. And furthermore both Reid and Obama vehemently opposed the same rule when they were both Senators.

What lame hypocrisy. I hope the conservatives run over this tradition when they get to power. Sooner or later it will happen. Let's see how your tune changes then.
