Empty speech from the empty suit.

On a good note for barry the fraud, unemployment dropped to 8.1 percent, but when you add in the lowest participation rate in 30 years its more like 11 percent. Not to mention most jobs created are at McDonalds.

Even many Democrat authors and newsmen said his speech hurt him.

That 11% hits 14.9% when one includes people forced to take low-paying jobs just to pay some of the bills.

Granny warren ...

How can even a politician state, on the convention stage, a tax issue lie so blatant that even Geithner and Rangle recognize it as such? "Romney hides money from the IRS in the Grand Caymans"?

S.O.S.!

Obama didn't concede Gibson's premise

Not to Gibson in that exchange, but as you know, both Obama and Bill Clinton are on the public record multiple times recently admitting that raising taxes in a poor economy is a bad idea. I'd forgotten that, but the speeches and interviews are readily available. One such comment was to NBC's Chuck Todd in an interview with Obama.

Matty--you must be Irish, at least you tried to identify metrics by which you evaluate Obama:\

Quote:
Mac obama had complete control for two years and took that opportunity to jam the largest spending bill known to mankind down Americas throat, with backroom deals, payoffs , zero transparency , little support from the taxpayers and you wonder how we ended up hear.

The trouble is, the only thing you've identified is the health care bill--which is a success. You don't agree with it, but it was one of the things he ran on, and he got it done over the objections of your abject failure Republicans. You can certainly disagree with that as policy, or as a priority, but it tortures both logic and the English language to describe a successful legislative effort as a failure.

Now let's look at the rest of your logic and give you a grade:

1. largest spending bill known to mankind down Americas throat. Not a pants on fire, but spin for sure. The CBO estimates the cost at $1.76 trillion over a decade, $176 billion a year. The Bush tax cuts cost almost exactly the same:

Quote:
President Bush instituted two big tax cuts, one in 2001 and another in 2003. The first was implemented amid rosy predictions of a 10-year, $5.6 trillion surplus; the second was enacted after the economy appeared to stumble after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

When the tax cuts were passed, the nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation estimated how much they might reduce revenue: the 2001 tax cuts was pegged at $1.35 trillion over 10 years; the 2003 tax cut was set at $350 billion over 10 years.
(Washington Post fact checker)

Add in the cost of the two wars--$1.26 trillion, and the Medicare drug benefit where Bush refused to use the Federal purchasing power to bargain for lower rates:

Quote:
Medicare Drug Benefit May Cost $1.2 Trillion
Estimate Dwarfs Bush's Original Price Tag

By Ceci Connolly and Mike Allen
Washington Post Staff Writers
Wednesday, February 9, 2005; Page A01

The White House released budget figures yesterday indicating that the new Medicare prescription drug benefit will cost more than $1.2 trillion in the coming decade, a much higher price tag than President Bush suggested when he narrowly won passage of the law in late 2003.

1. largest spending bill known to mankind down Americas throat

2. with backroom deals, payoffs. When the Republicans made it clear that no amendments, not any, would secure a single Republican vote for a plan that had been a moderate Republican plan pushed by Romney, Obama secured the swing votes the way that Presidents have always secured votes. Arm twisting, needed projects in the their district. Remember the bridge to nowhere in Alaska? How do you think he got the leverage to swing that? Right, he was a swing vote.

So Matty--you have a marginal argument under fourth grade standards, you get a C because you have a reason--even if it is illogical. But you'll never make the high school debate team. You should have paid attention in school...

Mattys description of the ACA is identical to mike huckabee's commercial that plays on cnbc 100 times a day. "rammed down Americans throats" "backroom deals" both the hucksters quotes.

Not a lot of mention about ocare at the DNC, Wonder why?

Greed and arrogance cost you the mid-terms, doubling down will cost you in November.

It's to bad barry the fraud is so self absorbed, he probably could have made history as a good president. But instead he will be remembered as a man who put his personal legacy ahead of what was best for his country. Gigs up, the mans an incompetent fraud, an Americans know it.

I have to admit mat-ty, you're pretty dependable for providing a lightweight view of things coming from the irresponsible right. There's nothing really offered in your criticisms but a hateful view. One has to wonder why you think that you're providing something noteworthy.

96,000 jobs added...........waitresses and bar tenders. Jobs with no benefits or future. 368,000 people have just given up looking. Manufacturing sector declined by 15,000 jobs. There was no indication of a shift in policy during the speeches last night. How long will it take to convince the President and his supporters that we need a change in direction? Four more years of this?

Swchandler
You hardly offer any more than I do, you sound like a pleasant man but with all do respect you also sound tremendously naive at times. I make my points short an sweet , and all are backed by the majority of Americans, and some of the best minds in this country. I could write a thousand word post like Mac and I would get the same response . Do you know what PHD stands for (Piled High and Deeper)
obamas economy has been a complete disaster, he has spent 5 trillion dollars with zero results. The most divisive , partisan president this country has ever seen. It's not hate Swchandler, it's Disgust, for an incompetent fool, and liberals who will continue to defend this colossal failure!!!
