The interesting race might well be the bridge to bridge, with AC-45's, 49'ers, windsurfers, kites, and the French hydroptere hydrofoil all rumored to be on the line. August 31, but not really possible to see much from the land. http://www.hydroptere.com/ |
MAC, the posted restricted zone goes till 16:35 on Saturday ?
Also i know the SFBA requested parking at our traditional area, for the parking attendent s to cooperate, and have not heard any more. ALso the park service now has a large area blocked off for permit only parking , that sucks, who are those permits for?

The 4:00 restricted time is for 2013; we let 2012 go later since they were going to be east of Anita. Parking in the National Park is first come first served, as I understand it. If there are areas of the park blocked off for permit parking, send me a photo and I'll see if I can track it back. The City has the authority to do what it wants with its own parks, as long as it is 100 feet back from the shoreline.

According to the stickers on the fence: National Park Staff.
BTW, Park Police are enforcing the speed limit on Old Mason Road.

Yes, the fenced off parking is for NPS employees, the parking attendents suck and were not letting in windsurfers and kiteboarders when there was plenty of parking, you kept having to circle back and argue with them.
The area from the beach to anita rock on the water was supposed to be for non motorized water craft... turned out ot be a anchorige making it impossible to get out up wind of the race course untill the event was over at 4pm.
Welll the wind has sucked the last few days anyway.
I know the park service are not happy... crissy east beach a parking lot for
the rich and famous.
The Rangers and park service volunteers were taking pictures and documenting all the kaos, espesially all the boats ankored so close to crissy beach, and the low flying helicopters.

I'll see what I can do to get it fixed for the next series of races. Thanks. Any pictures?
