I still have a NSM Slalom 280 that I purchased shortly before they stopped making boards. Does anyone know anything about these boards? Construction, designers, etc..? Just curious. Thanks.

they were certainly great in their day. richard greene still puts out some really assume designs. too bad the company had some mgmt issues. richard was getting the job done back in those dayz, still is today. the grand prix series from naish that i tried in OBX test was one of my favorites.

Do you happen to know the year of that board?
As a Kinetic dealer back around '00 thru '04, those year yellow boards were made in Taiwan by JamesChen.
If it's newer, it's a custom from RichardGreene, as said.

I got a white one about one year after they stopped making the yellow ones. Was there anything unique about construction?

Now that could be tough to pin down.
Kinetic made them thru '03, sending them to NSM dealers. Somewhere around then, I know a few were ordered in white, to obtain the "custom" look. But I don't know how many.
NSM started making their own boards around then, and an overlap period of probably 2 years ensued, where NSM got boards from Kinetic and also had customs built for them.
Your 280, is it a normal slalom or a course slalom? Could you measure it's exact length and width?

Sorry to say Greene is tired of breathing glass dust and says the speed board he modified for Eric Beale last month is his last job. Just before that he shaped some of the Naish line.
He is in China setting up to expand his line of helicopter parts and bids all boardheads a regretful goodbye.
