These fins are high priced. I was wondering if anyone could justify that. Are they that much better than the competition? |

Oh hell yes.
My MFC 38 cm. race fin rivals my previous $225. race fins' performance. Both are shaped by computers so no variations or flaws. I liked them so much I bought some freeride fins, also excellent. Try the "Weed San Carlos", regular fin performance in a weeder! _________________ Spennie the Wind Junkie

My MFC weed burner was worth every penny I paid for it. Beautiful and well-behaved. I might get another one for new board. |

What fins are cheaper? True Ames, Black Project and Makani fins are about the same price. I hear Makani gives deals if you buy 3 or more fins from them at a time but I am sure that is true of the other companies too. I was able to get a new freestyle MFC fin from helm windsurfing shop in SF for 50$ and there are still a few left.
I have always really liked the MFC fins but have no complaints about the one True Ames fin I have. Good fins are expensive and I don't think it matters what company's name is on them. Its more important to have a good quiver so that 1 board= 3 boards. Its a hard purchase but worth it. I just started sailing quads and a new set of quad fins cost 200+.
All of the above may not be true if you are talking about racing that is a whole different story. _________________ _____/)_____

I cant take this seriously.
They are not high priced, quite a few Cobra produced fins are patterened after them.
You want to hear/see high priced get a $$ from Cobra _________________ K4 fins

My understanding is that MFC arent "cheap" because they are CNC machined, and it made a huge difference for me. all of my fins are MFCs.
I recently bought a fin at WindNC in OBX. i really liked the Hahalua fin, and the tech behind its design, it also was $40 cheaper than the MFC, hand made... bought it and it did not fit the fin box on my shark. Luckily WindNC is awesome, and i was able to swap it for the MFC weed which fit perfect. Hahalua, hand made... MFC CNC.... _________________ Lavallette & Seaside NJ

They're not more expensive than most fins. I can't say if they're better than other specialized fins, but all my MFC fins are very very good, far better than any stock fins. Well, except for the stock fins on Quatro and Goya boards... which are MFC fins. |

This has been my experience too... seemed to be a huge difference when I replaced my stock fin with a MFC. After that, I replaced the fins for all our wave boards with MFC fins and they work great. |
