Recently I came in possession of a Bic stock fin with a tuttle base. It has 33 CM incorporated in the paint on it's surface. I measured the fin. It is 33 cm in span from the bottom of the base to the tip. Every other fin I own (a number of makes, sizes and bases) is measured from the top of the base to the tip. What gives here?

Every one of my fins is measured from tip to hull (the bottom of the base). What's inside the board is moot.

I know. I find this rather odd. It just shows you how much the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing in a big company like Bic.
