Morro bay? Does anyone sail there? Where to launch? What to watch out for? I'm in the area till the end of August. Want to try Morro bay for somthing different. Lots of good days at Lopez. Should I stay or head to the bay????? |

Sometimes, when Arroyo gets too windy, sailors find their way to Morro. I've seen sailors in the entrance, and just South (East) of the entrance on the outside. Dont think it is a preferred spot...Arroyo and the two creeks to the South of Arroyo are way more popular. |

I have years ago. We used to drive all the way to the parking adjacent to the Rock at the entrance of the main jetty going out into the ocean and play in the swell coming into the jetty. Not easy getting out. The rest of the bay is very tidal and if you are not careful you can get caught during low tide and get stuck. I did and the bottom is nasty hiking out. I would go to Arroyo....... |

In August, it's either arroyo or Lopez.
We have fun sailing the bay during spring
