A surprise session a few days ago after 5PM . 22-28 at Kalmus, launched in the corner of Lewis Bay , where my trimaran is moored.
I have been using GlowBoat as a gybe mark! Fun.
Clew View works great. First windsurf video that wasn't my helmet cam staring up at the sun.
5.3 KAsails Koyote, on an Exocet slalom 58, 80 liters, 28 cm Makani Halealua weed fin. Nice kit. Nice afternoon, now with record of it. Thanks Evans.

Awesome!
It looks like you were going really fast, especially on starboard tack.
If you set the camera to r4 it will film in 4:3 aspect ratio and you can get more of the board and your head in the shot. Versus in 16:9 ratio where you have excess in the horizontal dimension and not enough in the vertical dimension.
A little rainX on the lens might reduce the water droplets.
Processing the video clip with iMovie's "image stabilization" will make it less bouncy... although it takes a bit of computer time to render and you'll have to tweak the amount you're zoomed in as a tradeoff between smoothness and how much of the image is cut off.
You might try switching you feet a lot earlier when you jibe to keep your speed.
Sorry for all the unsolicited tips- Look forward to seeing some more videos!

Someone responded to me by PM politely complaining about the clicking noises in the video. I thought is was the wave slap making it, but he then had the apparent fix and sent this hint.

That is the noise on my video!, and that is what the white thing is for!. I thought it was just a lock.
Very helpful, and very polite for contacting me offline with the suggestion.
Did you know about this Evans?

That rubber thing is certainly useful to reduce both the noise and looseness of prong to seat connection. But that's not what it was originally designed for.
Its purpose was to prevent the prong attachment from accidentally popping out due to high impacts or G forces. These cameras are used for some radical sports & vehicle use for sure!
Ed, we need to hoist a cam to the top of your Trimarran next! |
