Seems that the past troubles associated with Chevron's Richmond, CA facility caught the attention of Rachel Maddow on MSNBC last night. While her comments could be written off as pointed left wing chatter, her show still gets notable national exposure and draws a lot of attention to the oil industry and their reluctance to clean up their act. Also, we have to remember that quite a few oil companies sit high on the list of those most hated corporations, so it's hard to think that no one really cares.

It was our diplomatic mrgybe who dismissed the concerns of local environmental groups over corrosion and professed expertise in the Chevron refinery. His misstatements will haunt him on this forum.

No response needed ref Maddow......her bias is self evident as is the bias of anyone who would watch MSNBC for anything other than a laugh. Fortunately, hardly anyone tunes in to see her. As for the most hated corporations:

1. JC Penny
2. Dish Network
3. T-Mobile
4. Facebook
5. Citigroup
6. Blackberry
7. American Airlines
8. Nokia US
9. Sears
10. HP

40% are in CA or the North West. HMMM.....very meaningful.

You might want to check out these lists.

In both articles you have three, Standard Oil, Exxon and BP.

Now........ please tell us that Sean Hannity is a far more honest and accurate reporter of "fair and balanced" news.

Please....

Now that you seem to have recovered, could you focus on this? Your words are admirably clear when you state that I..........

1. dismissed the concerns of local environmental groups over corrosion
2. professed expertise in the Chevron refinery

I'm sure you will be able to provide me with the direct quotes where I said those things so that I can assess whether I may have been unwise in my choice of words. Thanks.

mrgybe--you are certainly correct that impeaching your credibility could be a full time job. But I only do it when there is something of interest, questions to answer that I don't know, or amusement. You have yet to admit a single misstatement, or bias, so I know I'm not reaching through your armor.

Feel free to search your own statements for rationalization. It is harder to give up than sex.
