Dirt bikers founded and developed that trail several decades earlier. I rode it in the 70s. Fortunately, it's not unique; there's plenty of slickrock all over southern Utah. Many desert races blast over miles of virgin slickrock, scaring first-timers but giving an advantage to those of us who had ridden it at speed for years. Its widespread availability -- unlike the best Gorge swell or ocean waves -- and the greener nature of bicycles helps explain the Slickrock Trail exclusion of dirt bikes.

Can the same mindset, or majority rule, exclude WSers from the Hatchery some day?

That's like mountain bikers giving dirt bikers "crusty looks" on Moab's Slickrock Trail

When I rode Moab's Slickrock Trail in the 90's, there were no motorized vehicles allowed... on other "trails", yes, but not on the Slickrock Trail.

For clarity, your memory is playing tricks on you. Since the trail was first pioneered in the sixties it's been open to motorcycles, and remains so today.

If you listen closely you can hear the voices of creatures that were here long before us... Lets play nice together...
###
Oh you of infinite reach and dark meandering mind,
Why is it we cannot breach the walls that scar the ends of time?
The start of time, like a new tomorrow
Awaits the pagan demonic masses
While, child-like, we scientists
Look through the charred remains and tumbled pillars
Like blind fools who have discovered glasses.
It's all here, Jim says, it's all here.

Andrea watches Jim strum out his rhetoric, peaceful with primitive orgasmic pulses throbbing her  temples, head, ears and neck, lost in the rhetoric, swimming upstream towards her own unique destiny. "I bear his fruit" a vague untapped voice in her head whispers, selfish with lust and need for rebirth of self.

"Where are the waves?" a primitive beast mutters, topside, as a churning barge-monster ferries the beasts freaky goods from port to port.

The wind will be back soon.

I generally like poetry (especially erotic), but I'm kind of sick of the endless putdowns of various pre-Catholic religions. I think there's probably more evidence than ever for "demonic" CATHOLICISM (endless pedophilia, 500 years and counting of the Inquisition, etc.). I will remove this post when the poetry is removed or replaced with something more respectful. Thanks.
