Red River Beach in Harwich/Chatham?

I am looking to visit friends in Harwich and found Red River Beach there. Did any one launch there? Are windsurfers allowed? Are there any underwater hazards? Rip currents?

I think you can launch at the far end(East end) of the beach. They do have bouys marking the swim area that you will get yelled at if you enter. No rip currents on Nantucket sound only on the ocean side beaches.
