Westerlies often favor Haskins, the N launch of the old FlyingTigers.
SW always blew great at SierraPt., the S end of the Stick. We used to sail very close to the freeway on Oct SW winds, upwind of the black glass building. SW winds were also OK for the pond on the W side of the freeway, but I don't think anybody bother's to sail there anymore.
There's still jibe practice Oyster. |

Although not as big a deal as at some other spots, tide can make a difference at the Stick as to ease of getting back and the nature of the chop. |

Pond, maybe 10 days of solid planing, always during the Sept/Oct part of the season, when SW winds seem to prevail. This was before we discovered SierraPt.'s little tiny sailing area. The crew at WiseSurfboards, all beginner shortboarders, sailed there because some of them only uphauled, mostly their first couple of months of windsurfing. |
