I’ve borrowed a term from cycling: “Citizen Racing” is when anyone can race, with no previous experience required.

Did you know that the Cabrillo Beach Enduro is one of the largest windsurfing races in the U.S., right up there alongside the Nationals or the Calema Mid-Winters in size? The Enduro is also one of the very few races where everyday sailors can compete for fun and prizes, not just hard-core Formula racers or pros. Our Sport Class was even won by a guy on wavesailing gear. Don’t be fooled by this, however: Our Open class is very competitive, and some of these guys are lightning fast!

Many great windsurfing companies have helped to make sure the Enduro has the quality prizes that bring racers from around the country—and around the world-- to Los Angeles to compete. We’ve been given excellent prizes in the past, including boards, sails, booms, fins & extensions, rash guards, hats & stickers, from companies like Sailworks, Chinook, ProMotion, Goya, Hot Sails Maui and many more. We gave out prizes to the top 18 racers last year, and hope to do it again this year.
