Josh, I'd suppose that during your travels pursuing wind and wave, you've seen more than your fair share of sharks. You're not going to let a few of these interlopers concern you now? I'm sure these specimens would think twice of helping themselves to a side order of Angulo over a serving of seal.

Can't kill seals.
Apparently you can shoot bears, mountain lions, plenty other mammals
Marine mammals are off limits....
I don't mind that the seals invite the sharks, I just don't like surfing with the seal poop ....it's a real issue
You can't catch great whites, but the shark tournament on Martha's Vineyard every summer draws huge crowds
It all makes total sense to me....
There are worse ways to go. It would be rightous.......just dont' want them munching my kids or doing a bite and spit

Years ago, annual shark tourneys on LI always brought in big crowds and boats from all along the seaboard. As kids growin up and surfing LI, we'd wonder where they were catching all those sharks. Duh! Ignorance was certainly bliss.
Regarding the hunting of seal pups. Imagine the additional outcry if hunters targeted only baby bears, bambis, newborn Flippers, and other mammalian youngsters rather than just the cuddly, puppy sea dogs.
