Anyone from Team Abide going to the Hatteras AWT event? How about the Cactus Cup in San Carlos? (I'll be at San Carlos for sure, and am planning on Hatteras as well.) |

I'm prob in....
We had 5 guys loaded for bear last year when the bridge got taken out.
In the end, we scored some really great swell in New England, and so it will take a bit more internal haggling this year.
Then there's the Josh application....and that's all tied in with the whole Dude / Jesus thing which may never get resolved
Plus the website, Plus PK is gonna have to hold down a 4.2 today, so it's really quite complex....but probably yeah _________________ https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=zw0MgkO7VXw |

Waddell on fire today
5.3M 10-1 ish
Then 4.7 until 6
I did not advance in the first round
3 in my heat
I really only had one good wave ride.
No jumps counting for my heat
I was able to sail just down wind of comp area (kind of a better wave zone)
Some serious set waves were over head with steep faces
Had 3 hours of sailing though out the day.
Level of sailing is high for all divisions.
all amature goups had riders capable of so good ariel hits, front and back loops.
Pro sessions specacular
Levi won the first round with a hugh stalled forward and a sick wave 360 on a very thick section of wave
Heats ran constantly from 10:30- 6:30
Kudos to Matt P and the judging team for sticking with it for so long
Should be some killer photos on AWT web site by am tomorrow. |

I was on 4.7 with 87 quad
Nearly all sailors here are on Multi fin boards
Seems like half the boards on the beach are quatro |

While Pete wouldn't brag about it himself, ya'll can be pleased to know he was the first sailor out on the water yesterday. Planed right off the beach and caught some air. Pretty sure a few judges said "Welp, better get this show on the road..." - Ha! _________________ __________________________________________

That new quatro thruster that levi is on looks sweet. Looks like thrusters will be the new selling point for next year. Would hope it can be run as a single fin as well. Jealous of the trip! |

another great day of wind and waves
AWT is very lucky to get such great conditions.
No comp for me today but a lot of action for youth Ladies, Amature men and Pros
I think they got throught a good portion of double elimnatation for all
Wind was solid 5.3 and 87 liter for me.
Waves were better than yesterday
Slighlty west i think so direction was nice for peeling rights
Set wave had a bit more size to them.
I think i had about 3 hours of water time
Was feeling a bit sore this morning after yesterday
I droped into one that we logo to mast high. Basically just had to out run it
Bates:
Not sure about the thruster thing. There are a few here.t many more quads
Though I did talk to Kieth Taboul and he indicated that they would add a thruster line.
He also says they will add some lager volume boards to the line and thrusters for these seem to work better than quads
My opinion is that for waves the single fin is gone.
For b&J and general sailing it makes sense.
The multi fin boards do all thing wave related so much better. |

Cool very jealous. Have you visited Joe at Davenport Surf and Sail. If not do it, he is the man. When we visited he made our trip! Ask him for a "west coast rampage" vhs. |

Wrap up report
I left eary for home on Sunday
Seem like It was a good move.
Not much action
Got home in 14 hours huge flight delay in Chicago due to storms
Event was a blast
Really fun to meet, sail with and party with a ton of great people in CA
Saw many of the pros sail first hand
Sam, Josh and Matt P and rest of organizing crew all did an excellent job
Big thanks to them and the 5 Judges who sat and watched 3 days of superior windsurfing and conditions
Got in 3 great days of sailing out of 4 days there
Really only needed 87L and 5.3 and 4.7M
Gear out and back with no damage
I hope we get some great conditions for OBX event
Next year Pistol.
Talked with a bunch of people about it..
Not so bad to get there as I thought
Only need to bring 87L and 3 sails |
