Why would anyone buy an assortment of fins at a swap meet, then ask what they are worth on this forum without providing specific information about each one?
It's like saying I have 9 used cars for sale, what are they worth?
Sound a little bogus to me.

Actually it is closer to saying "Hi I stole this bag of fins how much are they worth". Then go to iwindsurf and get a member name so you can post the message...

| I'd be very interested. Fins can greatly affect board handling, but are too expensive to just buy a bunch and experiment. If you can't provide pictures, at least give us a list of what you have. There should be enough info on the fins' logos/labels to help buyers decide what they're interested in. Some brands/models that are really popular include Maui Fin Company (MFC), Curtis, Goya, and Drake. New prices are all over the map, from <$100 to >$300, and each type of fin has a different purpose and mounting base; we'd have to have pics or a description of what you have to be able to price them or decide if they interest us. Sizes would help, too; that's usually written somewhere on the fin, running from something like 22 cm to 45 cm for different fins.

| I bought them to hang in my tiki/tropical themed game room. I don't steal. I thought it was pretty rude to assume that. Maybe someone could get a better use out of them then me hanging them everywhere. To anyone that's interested. I have plenty of pics. My email address is zoohouseprez@yahoo.com

| Without pics or descriptions, they are useless to a windsurfer. We don't buy pistons without knowing what engine they fit, or fins without knowing what boards they're compatible with.

zoohousepres,
The windsurfing community is a close group, which means that we look after and trust one another. When windsurfing gear shows up on the market and the seller isn't knowledgeable about the equipment, it's usually safe to assume the gear is stolen. Sometimes we may be wrong, but not often.
Someone recently posted an add from Craig's List for a sail and "pole". No one would have a sail and "pole" that wasn't stolen.
If you bought your fins for decoration, why not use them? Maybe you think they have enough value to re-sell them, which could be a good deal for you. However, like everyone is saying, we would have to have very specific information and pictures to consider their value or to purchase them. Since you know nothing about windsurfing and the fins, you probably have hit a dead end.

I don't believe it's accurate at all to assume windsurfing gear is stolen because the seller is not knowledgeable about the items.
Lots of people have stashes of 10 year old and older gear laying about that someone left behind after they gave up the sport for various reasons.
I have encountered several stashes of gear like this that people just give away or try to sell for next to nothing.
A friend of mine was just given 5 boards, various masts and sails and a pile of fins some of which he gave to me, a nice True Ames G-10 powerbox and several trim box fins.
People get old, too busy, take up kiteboarding or just lose interest.
