I'm 5' 6" 140 lbs I bought the 5/3 med/short Promotion a week ago at the Gorge store.
It's a great suit. Fit a bit tight in the store, but wore it a few times, now is comfortable. It doesn't have the shiny neoprene, and I've let it dry overnight inside out, in my Hostel room, no problem. I looked at the O'neill Polar heat, it didn't look as warm , and I get cold easily. I think this suit would fit you fine, but all people and suits are different, and it is a gamble, buying without trying it on. ( I learned the hard way) . |

Why do so few bother to have suits made to measure? It's the norm for those who surf/windsurf all year round to have our cold weather suits so made, by specialist small firms. The real advantage is that you get to specify the neoprene type and thickness, and layout. (Front zip, hood attached, and no silly thin unlined flexi bits to split and leak if you feel the cold, as most of us do.)
Made to measure is more expensive but, if you know exactly what is needed, is way superior to any off the shelf suit for cold water conditions .... though cheapo does for summer suits of course! |
