there are definitely plenty of good used boards here, but in many places thats not true at all.

Windance ships anywhere in the U.S. for roughly $100.

Realwind was great....made all boards right in Oregon until...well like the rest of the industry...until they went out of business or overseas. Even with the savings of using labor that is around $.25 an hour and the dwindling quality...its still a small industry getting smaller.

Name one board made in US?

Open Ocean, or Cascade, or North Pacific.

I love my 2001 realwind surflite. 120. I'm sure that place called realwind in the gorge has some of the same lineup as back then. I was in that store in 2007. Made in China. sad. Plus, they don't make the one I need. Just as well. I hate swimming in after breaking a board. They don't care. I'd sooner patch up my old realwind than buy a new one. It looks ugly but who doesn'tWink

You could just weigh the board... then look up the cost of the materials. That will give you a ratio of value against cost... its a starting place... materials are usually the biggest expense for things made in Asia.
