A little edit of WS'ing with my dad while playing in the waves at Dorado Beach, PR. Nothing too exciting but still fun!

For those of you brave enough to be sailing in the bitter cold this winter, I commend you!

The access is actually quite good. You can park at the public parking lot which is right on the water. They charge a small fee of 3$ for cars or 4$ for vans, which isnt too bad. In the summer it gets pretty packed but during the off season its basically empty. I usually head to the west end of the parking lot and stay out of the swimming area.

Here are the GPS coordinates for the parking lot entrance: 18.472794, -66.281848. Throw that into google maps and it should bring you right to the spot.

Hi, Thanks;

that access is not that bad, is not in the wave spot but should work. 12 years ago there was no problem going thru the villas.

How long you will be there, should be a great spot to sail on the weekend.

Thanks;

I mostly used a 6.3 but a few of the shots are with a 7.5. i would guess 15-17mph. could have used a bit more but just enough to catch the waves

good times with big gear beats theoretical times with small gear with light wind.

any days you get frontside rides like thins? wind is coming from slightly offshore.

this is a more onshore day. heel side rides nearly all that was available.

both cases, i had spent part or all of mt competition time on my kona 11'5. it's now called the exocet curve 11'5. surfer's beach near shacks, there's a guy who uses the 11'5 and a 10'5 in the surf all the time. go big or sit on the beach and mope.
